Another option is a smallsound bigsound Buzzz. It has the octave on a footswitch so you could have clean boost/clean octave up (well, mostly clean. There is hint of grit) or you could do OD/octave up OD, or Fuzz/octave fuzz.

You could also have the octave on all the time and the mid scoop on the footswitch for some crazy sounds and textures stacked into other dirt.

I mean, all of that sounds awesome, but all I really need is just a clean octave up pedal without any bells and whistles, so that seems like a waste of cool stuff.

Yeah, that is DEFINITELY a fuzz, and all I need is the octave up part. I use a lot of fuzz in the studio but for live shows all of my dirt is coming from the amp. Simple. I like simple.

I just saw that on Rigs of Doom the Weber Tonecvlt series of speakers a couple of which come in 12 ohm impedance. I could use these to restore my Sunn 6x12! I though some of you dudes could use the info, if it hasn't been passed around already.

$114 a pop!

•Bloodhound (emphasized low end and optimized for fuzz)
•Gray Wolf (aggressive midrange, clear highs)
•Silver Wolf (aggressive lower mids, pairs with Gray Wolf)
•Dire Wolf (an even bigger version of the Gray Wolf for more everything)
•Black Shuck (for the most punishing low end, great for baritone guitar too.

So I've finally gone through the entire SVT preamp and picked out every component that has drifted in value (or gotten slightly cooked), and it turns out that it's modded to use 12ax7s instead of the 12dw7s that it originally came with. Should I keep that the way it is or put it back to stock and get some 12dw7s in there? Is there anything to gain back from making that switch? Also, how the fuck do I get these metal tube protectors off of the socket without unsoldering the whole socket from the board?

Edit: I'm dumb, I figured out the tube protector. Although now I see that the last tech actually put 12dw7s in the preamp and didn't notice that it was modded for 12ax7s... So now I guess I'll be modding it back to its original design then!

I know we discussed this months ago, but I can't seem to find it anywhere: What is the DOD Boneshaker Distortion circuit derivative of?

Finally got around to putting the Nazgul in the bridge of my PRS to go with the Sentient. For all of those who are using the Black Winter you might like this. It sounds like a PAF and a Black Winter had a baby. Not too far off of the Torch but the Torch has just a little bit more of everything. I'm digging it a lot, and I like it more in the PRS than the Black Winter when it was in there.. Also, put the Torch in my main Les Paul (old dull strings and all) and it sounds even better than it did in the PRS. I need to record some clips soon.

Also, got that Khemmis vinyl. Packaging looks killer.
