My work has been crazy lately + money has been really tight. Not a good combo. Took $1,000 out of one of my IRAs early to help with things. Cost $200 in fees to do. So lame.

So, I manage a Ma & Pa music store that's been around since 1979. I've been working here since 2006, handling most guitar repairs since 2009, and managing full time since 2011 or thereabouts. The store is owned by a husband and wife who've been in charge since 1997. Today I presented the husband, who spends a bit more time in the store and is the more level headed of the two, with a list of suggestions that I have for things that we could be handling differently, some short term, some long term, and things didn't go as well as I would have liked. The wife, who's the one who is really in charge of things, spends about 7 or 8 hours a week in the store, the husband about 15, neither with much customer interaction.

Anyways, I showed my list to the husband, who said I had some good ideas, but more or less said shit isn't going to change. I only yelled, "Fuck you, I quit" once, and then sat down, gathered my thoughts, and tried to be a bit less reactionary. He read through the rest of my suggestions, said I had some good ideas, and then tried to convince me things are good and they aren't against me.

I'm pissed. And a bit drunk. I'm mad at myself for throwing a tantrum in front of my boss, who I do respect, and disappointed that I ended up red faced and in tears, but I'm hoping to buy the place when they sell and they are way out of touch.

Also I recently started taking escitalopram for anxiety, and I'm not sure that I'm digging it. Anxiety sucks. Depression sucks. Bosses that accept mediocrity suck.

Apparently my friend that I lent a pair of NOS Tesla EL34s dropped and shattered them without telling me. I had them up for sale on Reverb and someone bought one on Sunday, took three days of phone tag to setup a meetup with my friend and I could tell he's giving me a run around. I called him back tonight and told him that I could only get a ride and really need those tubes, no time to dick around and he came clean. He still has my tuner pedal, owes me $150 already and now he says he's gonna get me a matched quad of NOS EL34s. At this point I just want the tuner pedal back and to be done with him.
