Apparently my friend that I lent a pair of NOS Tesla EL34s dropped and shattered them without telling me. I had them up for sale on Reverb and someone bought one on Sunday, took three days of phone tag to setup a meetup with my friend and I could tell he's giving me a run around. I called him back tonight and told him that I could only get a ride and really need those tubes, no time to dick around and he came clean. He still has my tuner pedal, owes me $150 already and now he says he's gonna get me a matched quad of NOS EL34s. At this point I just want the tuner pedal back and to be done with him.

i apologize in advance cause this is going to sound like i'm being a huge asshole when you just posted to air your frustrations, and i don't really mean to be. but if you're loaning tubes to people and they're being used at all, you shouldn't really sell them as NOS. obviously i haven't actually seen your ad and have no idea how you listed or described them and i realize you probably just used the term NOS here as shorthand for vintage so we'd all get why it's so annoying, but you know... nerd talk. sorry.

anyway, that is really annoying. i'd be pissed. i've lost gear due to people borrowing it and never returning it or losing it or whatever. it sucks. and it's really shitty when someone can't just be straightforward and make it right. or even don't make it right, but be straight up with me. i'd rather someone just be like "i used your mic and left it at a club and i'm not going to replace it ever. it's gone and not coming back and that's what happened". that's way better than "i don't know dude, i thought i gave that back to you. i'll look through my stuff when i have a chance. i'm sure it's somewhere." the band that shares a space with us took two mic stands and two mic cables that belong to us on tour with them and came back with no cables and only one stand. when asked about it, they of course said that they certainly hadn't taken any of our stuff on tour with them and they hadn't lost anything. right. the shit vanished the day they left and never appeared again. we had no shows and didn't move any gear. i know everyone always thinks that cables and shit like that are ubiquitous and no big deal, but it's so annoying. we had just bought the shit a few weeks before. ironically enough to replace the previous set of stuff that was lost by the previous band we shared a space with.

i hope you get your tuner and that magically the dude really does replace your tubes, but it doesn't sound like he's reliable like that.

Yeah, I only used NOS as a shorthand term. "Tests like new" was the appropriate description that I used for my ads. The tubes never got used though because this "friend" was attempting to find more Tesla EL34s that "test like new" to match to the pair for our amps as neither of us even have a 2xEL34 amp.

My roommate did that to me, he just grabbed one of my brand new mic stands and cables from the basement, took it too his room and said "nah dude, pretty sure that stuff's mine" I had to force my way into his room while he was gone and send him a text message "sorry need my shit back. If you think it's yours then show me the receipt because I have one that says it's mine." On other occasions bands that shared my practice space over and over again tried to take the cables that connected the mixer to the power speakers, every freaking time I would come back to the space they would be in a tangle underneath the stands and the mic stands were never put away how they were when someone that used them found them. HOW FUCKING HARD IS TO TO PROPERLY COLLAPSE A MIC STAND???

I move in less than two weeks, I doubt he'll come through in time.

All three of our dogs have parainfluenza. It's seriously impossible to sleep, as they chough the most gut turning coughs every 2 minutes. Poor things, but a sleep deprived UC is a douchelord, self-pitying UC.

I've been basically by myself the past 3 weeks to take care of the entire company (9 stores, 8 pharmacies, 4 convenience stores, a general office with too many accountants and people with C in their title, and all the servers, networking, computers, data terminals and printers that entails). I worked 110 hours last week and got my ass chewed by the CEO because I didn't set up a Macbook (the only Mac in our company) for the newest C-Hole 4 days before I was told he would arrive. I haven't even had time to try and get it to play nice with the Domain Controller, and all the network shares and file shares that go along with it. People have no fucking idea what it takes in IT to keep a company running smoothly, let alone one this size with one person doing all the fucking work.

someone at my job is trying to assassinate my character because i stopped hanging out with her because shes a dramatic child. luckily everyone in management/HR see through her bs and basically told me shes a nut and my job is safe.

I took a little over a week off for my birthday (which was over the weekend). I did what I planned to do, which was go to my hometown and see my old friends and family. I have two more days after today. The whole time I haven't been able to put aside thoughts of how much time I have until I go back to work. So that's been hampering any real potential for fun. I also have been saying that I really, really, reeeeally need a LONGER period of time where I have no obligations. At least two weeks. As in, "two weeks away from everything I normally have to do." Because I need to figure out what the fuck it is I want to do with my life, and I don't have the time to do that in my regular week. I need to not feel obligated to do anything, to spend my free time doing something productive, just so that I can remember what it's like to do something purely for its own enjoyment. I can barely do that with art anymore. Between focusing on proper technique so my hands don't get fucked up again, and wondering "how can I make this my job?" it's not very much fun. Also I have no extra money because of car bills and other stupid shit, so that means no money to make art prints, and no money to be saved so I can actually consider a job change and get that aforementioned time for my goddamn self. I tell myself that it won't be like this forever, but without a plan that's actually being set in motion it very well can. My vacation hasn't felt that relaxing because I'm somehow still running around doing shit that isn't really what I want to do.

my neighbor complained about my yard, filed a complaint with the town. The type of grass grows long, not thick. Keeping it cut short makes the yard look fucking terrible because all you see is dirt. Whe the grass is longer- like upper ankle height it looks pleasant like a grassy meadow. I even have deer and rabbits that chill back there. Disney shit. Butterflies and squirrels and hummingbirids and shit. But haters gonna hate. so I have to destroy my own enjoyment to get the bitch off my back.

I swear I'm going to like....pave over the whole yard. Neighbor is down hill. No one fucks with me. If I have to ruin my pleasure, I will ruin theirs, too.

if you break it down further, let's say you refuse to pay money to some asshole in a costume because your neighbor doesn't like the look of your yard. Can they potentially try to arrest you and put you in a fucking cage if you do? Our country has the most ass-backwards laws.
