I just saw they don't do customs like the one that's in the video anymore. That sucks. Would be cool to have a guitar with a bridge pickup like that. Those tones were great.

[*]Anyone know what's up with egc removing models from the lineup? I don't see the sg style, and it goes from series two straight to five...

Likely simplifying the lineup... much like he seems to have backed off the custom orders, just another way to keep things in check and make it easier to keep up with demand ..

I've always wanted a DS

that's got to be one of the most popular models

shame that it's missing

I wonder if Gibson sent him a cease and desist? Although the standard is definitely a Gibson-esque model and is still listed...

it definitely seems like a gibson cease and desist situation

the standard is closer to a hamer doublecut so if there was a cease and desist, it was likely excluded

what a shame

I think Kevin drew the Standard shape himself, the older ones look a bit different, and it evolved inevitably towards the DC shape.
It's a bit squatter though if you look at them side by side.

Are Gibson getting so desperate for wood they're going to enter the aluminium game?

The matte grey standard posted on instagram Friday is really effing tempting…I'd also be tempted to throw a shiny polished pick guard on it...

I think they're just so shit at making good guitars that they are stomping on the competition.

The DS was there the other month. Must've just come down.

I'm starting to get pretty darned excited about my series 1. I've got a projected completion of October. We'll see!!!

Necro bumping a thread I feel shouldn't be dead. I actually am looking to purchase a guitar from these guys, but I'm like desperate for a flat RD shape but I see that they do no customs, and I honestly don't really want to spend that much money if I don't get the exact shape I desire although I've seen them build them before. I wanted to ask what are general turn around times for these guys? and how is it working with them? I see a lot of people have them, but after seeing an amazing set by Upsilon Acrux yesterday, and falling in love with the tone of my Kramer 450g, I think this would be a great step up!

Last I heard, build times were out a year.

Kevin is a great guy. He is a bit slow to repond to emails sometimes, but I always believe he is genuinely very busy. His wife, Hilary, handles a lot of communication now and she is wonderful to speak with as well.

I regret nothing about ordering mine. It changed a lot for me, not just with sounds but focused more on what is important...playing the guitar.

Do not order one if you want to keep liking other guitars. I am strongly considering selling my old favorite Gibson SG because I have barely touched it since my EGC has arrived.
