What a genius Jim Adkins was in the '90s

The rest of Clarity had been done for months, and he just kept coming back to the studio to add shit to this song, harmonies, electronic elements (the little glitchy breakdown), more guitars, etc. The rest of the band must have been so over it LOL

Oh shit UPSIDE DOWN CROSS! That album is perfect. I grabbed that out of a clearance bin at my local record shop like 7 years ago based on the cover alone and it's still in my rotation. The name is probably the most subtle thing about it. I wonder what J. Mascis and Seth Putnam hanging out together was like. Probably lots of nodding out...

Easily one of the best riffs of all time forever. They're up there with Grief as far as I'm concerned when it comes to 'local' bands that were so far beyond the curve. If that album (which I should really find in a physical format sometime, I just have a CDR from way back when) came out today it would still piss all over pretty much every 'doom' record released in the last couple of years.

Didn't really dig the new tdep, but i'm also not a huuuge fan of the band. Like Option Paralysis a lot (esp. good neighbor and gold teeth on a bum) and some other stuff here and there
