I'm enjoying the Windhand record but... the Dorothia solo record and it have a lot in common which sort of detracts from the Windhand record.

i just got back from a good little jaunt into the wilderness for about a week. way too much to bother commenting on in here. but the mountains were awesome and i feel so much better for it, although a bit sore and sunburned. i posted pics from the trip on IG but i think conky is the only one who follows me there. anyway, while out in the woods i gave my lady a ring and she said yes, so that's pretty fucking exciting for me. never thought i'd be the type, but life is weird and i guess i am the type now.

Congrats, man! From the pictures you posted on Instagram I'd say you picked the best spot to pop the question. It is beautiful up there.

Nice! How's it sound (for guitar)? There is one in a decidedly less Van Halen theme for pretty cheap locally.

samzadgan wrote:Fucking Marshall died on me tonight!

Probably a fuse as it just cut out...tried other power outlets and same deal.

Its rediculous...both amps i brought to Australia have got fucked up...im wondering if the power outlets are shit here or the power isnt stable...i dont get it...its pissing me right off!

That sucks dude. Hopefully you will have them back up and running soon :thumb:

I have no idea what most of that means. But the PGS clip sounds good and it's not crazy expensive, so I may snag one at some point.

I think he may be on vacation?

I mean, Charlotte is an odd place. Hit up any bands you can find, you never know...

Congrats man! Roll with life; we never know where it will take us.

I did get a response from Digitech, but they evaded my question about the EQ range specifically. I posted about it in general gear:

HeavyXIII wrote:It replaced an OCD clone that was my main dirt. I read it pulls from a lot of different circuits, and I hear a lot of familiar things going on. Reminds me a lot of what I hear out of DOD250s, but it clearly has a LOT more gain; it also gets pretty fuzzy at higher settings, and doesn't seem to get saturated in the same way a lot of other dirt boxes do. I also hear a very present clarity about it, like somehow there's clean signal blended in somewhere, but I doubt that's what's actually happening. It may be a type of asymmetrical clipping, where half of the waveform is relatively uncompressed and clear sounding. Because of this clarity, it LOVES other dirt boxes and dirty amps; both as a boost and being boosted.

I had some questions and here's what I gleaned from Digitech:

The depth control works backwards (and is used for tightening up the lows by choking the amount of bass frequencies that it receives) and works down to about 30 hz (HELLO BASS). It has an odd setup for distortion, where most of the gain is in the last quarter turn of the knob (for more shades of overdrive; I wanted more shades of distortion and fuzz :( ). It's also LOUD AS FUCK in typical BAT fashion.

As far as the EQ goes, I can confirm that each EQ band can be set to distort on it's own, which is useful for getting more gain than with the gain control, although can sound weird depending on what frequencies you're clipping. They either didn't know or ignored my question about the range of each EQ control, but to my ears the frequencies don't meet up at opposing extreme settings, IE maxed bass and minimum mids are not particularly close in frequency. I would have appreciated something approaching overlap, as it could be helpful to boost low mids and cut high mids simultaneously and vice versa.

All in all it's an incredibly well rounded device, and with proper EQing strategies can do most styles of music well. I can be practically WHEREVER I want in the mix, which is also handy. :animal:

I've also been stuck on this song for the past 3 days:

Went out with Black Arts Mark last night when he came into town on the CT leg of his vacation/biketrip. Wife and I took him to Pepe's Pizza (side note: best pizza in the world)

Great to finally meet the man after many years.

We were going to go to Modern first but it was closed. Sally's also closed but Pepe's was open and the line was not bad at all.
