This^^^^ I'm just having a harder time than usual "coping" with our bullshit culture. I work in a "health food" store. Let me take a sec to say that no market should even need the word "health" in the name. Or "natural" for that matter. If that's not a sign that things are screwy.....

Anyways...

I know
I can't not create stuff. It's in my bones. I think I'm still just jaded and stinging from having to pay nearly $150 to show my work, for one night nonetheless, and not sell anything. I know that it's nothing new for any artist to be losing his ass on his work more often than making anything from it. It just makes me feel like I shouldn't even bother trying to make money from it, because it takes the enjoyment out of it. I still need a more enjoyable way to make my living. If the things I love won't do it, I need something that will allow me to do those things and NOT always have to worry about money.

Plus it would be nice to have some money to actually be able to buy some pedals or gear someday again. I think it's been a year since I got anything. Between having so little money, and my hand not working right, it's been hard to be musically creative lately. Anyway, I'm tired of typing these too-long rants. I just want to be able to hang here and talk about music and gear again. Y'all are real cool for putting up with my repetitive nonsense in this thread.

Kettle fused to electric stove burner somehow with hole burned in kettle and burner coil burst open.. Discovered it with sparks arcing and shooting around the kitchen with water draining into the burner. Before I had any coffee.

Yah, this can really suck. I almost got stranded in Portland (Maine) last summer, but managed to sneak onto the last flight (well not sneak but got on a waiting list and just sat at the bar drinking the whole night).

I hate humidity. I don't think my taint will ever be dry again. I miss winter. :c

This is a very impressive collection of Roto Toms. That's 21 Roto Toms in all. That is only $33.00 a Roto Tom.

As linked from the PPOLL discussion:
http://www.theonion.com/blogpost/find-t ... n-do-31742
I have always been a big proponent of following your heart and doing exactly what you want to do. It sounds so simple, right? But there are people who spend years—decades, even—trying to find a true sense of purpose for themselves. My advice? Just find the thing you enjoy doing more than anything else, your one true passion, and do it for the rest of your life on nights and weekends when you’re exhausted and cranky and just want to go to bed.

It could be anything—music, writing, drawing, acting, teaching—it really doesn’t matter. All that matters is that once you know what you want to do, you dive in a full 10 percent and spend the other 90 torturing yourself because you know damn well that it’s far too late to make a drastic career change, and that you’re stuck on this mind-numbing path for the rest of your life.

Is there any other way to live?

I can’t stress this enough: Do what you love…in between work commitments, and family commitments, and commitments that tend to pop up and take immediate precedence over doing the thing you love. Because the bottom line is that life is short, and you owe it to yourself to spend the majority of it giving yourself wholly and completely to something you absolutely hate, and 20 minutes here and there doing what you feel you were put on this earth to do.

Our best and fastest builder quit today. I hate hiring and I hate training. It is my absolute least favorite part of my job and we have to do it at least 2 more times this year...

My head hurts just thinking about it.

Guitarist is taking "image" too seriously. I wouldn't mind if I didn't think his/his roommates ideas were all terrible.

I don't think he understands that having fun on stage is the most important image you can have. Especially as a band playing small bars.

I've decided my only option is cruel derision as my usual diplomatic subtlety has not taken hold. Operation: Full-on Douche is a go!
