Re: Let's see your ART!
I tend to bury my insecurities with my drawings in repetition.
One drawing can look and feel boring. But a series of boring drawings?
Now you're talking.
Anyhow. I made these drawings in a notebook about 20 years ago.
After coming home from work all I could manage to draw was this
stuff. I'd draw while watching TV. It was a way to turn off my mind
and just do something "creative" to try to counteract the soul-destroying
nature of my job.

Re: Let's see your ART!
The "soul-destroying nature of my job" that I mentioned eventually stalled me from
even drawing random stuff in notebooks at a certain point. I couldn't do anything
creative at all. I didn't feel like picking up my guitar after work. Nothing. Only TV
and alcohol made sense. Sometimes going to a show to see a band. But sometimes
watching other people who've figured it out feels counterproductive when you
yourself feel stuck.
All I could do was scribble a phrase or make some stupid little random sketch on
the pages of my day calendar while I was at work.
So eventually I decided that if I put all these random pieces together they would add up
to something at least. So I decided that the scribbles and sketches I made on
the pages of my day calendar were now an "animation".
This project lasted me through several shitty jobs.

Cool drawing, I think the colours are a nice touch. You didn't go overboard. May I ask what you used?

Re: Let's see your ART!
Yesterday I took the step to buy art supplies! I've always been under the impression that I am absolutely terrible at art because I can't draw for shit. Then I realised that I am terrible at guitar in the classical sense as well, but I still enjoy it and I don't play it traditionally. So I figured that I'd give it a shot. I bought acrylics and some charcoal, and so far I've just used the charcoal, and even though it might be shit I'm pretty happy with it

Also, I'm interested in doing textural stuff with acrylics, does anyone have any beginner tips?

awesome! Just keep fucking doing it, fill up pages and pages every spare moment you get. I've only started trying to learn to draw when I was 25. 33 now and it was the best thing I ever did, turned my life around.

Nice.
I've been using some Copic Sketch and Ciao markers for an animation project.
I only have a few colors, but they're pretty rich and opaque. And all of them
are working out well except... yellow.
