So thought I'd update as my show is in 8 weeks. UGH! I'm so ready for this shit to be fucking over! I might do another show after, but it will be right the fuck after, then onto bulking again. haha.

I hit stage weight with 12 weeks left!!! I was at 177 after dropping 5 fucking pounds in one week! So my coach decided to pack some weight back on me for a little bit then I'll cut back down. This was before I even cut water! Which I'll still be doing to get the most out of the definition I have. My biggest issue is ab separation from the front, which I attribute to having stomach surgery and lots of scar tissue. Pulling some water will make it pop though. I'm fairly shredded I think. haha. I hate the feeling though. I'm at 5-6% body fat right now. I'm not planning on going lower but it's happening without me having a choice. I'm very vascular and it kind of grosses me out. LOL

Right now I'm sitting at 181. So I have to drop back down soonish, but it's so easy at this point it's not even funny.

Here's a picture from last week, just in case anyone cares. I seems to change each week too. In terms of striations. I now have been developing pretty defined shoulders. I noticed yesterday while working them and it was weird as shit. Seeing the separated muscles.

Yes, I cut my hair off. I couldn't stand it anymore. :)

holy crap Jwar Looking good man

Just read my post to start this thread, where I weighted 200pounds
At 206 now, which is good considering I was 220 about 5-6 weeks ago

really need to commit to a plan that works for me

some changes I have made to do this include
no soda
no food after dinner
no snacks at work with more than 1 ingredient

I think these are things I can stick with

still struggle with cheat days
I don't think my brain can handle them

Who??? LOL

RE-cheat meals. They only work if you're doing it right. You have to carb cycle like I do to make them make sense. So low carb all week then for one or two meals, slammed full of carbs. This ramps your metabolism. Now not all things work for all people though.

Fat intake is huge as well. You need good fats, it's a necessity. So your body will use fats as a fuel source.

So lower carbs (150 a day to start maybe even 200 grams depending on how much you'd been having before), all from good sources. IE brown rice, oatmeal, bananas.
Cut all simple sugars, including those from fruits (apples, berries..etc).
Increase your fat intake (this is based on body weight so can't give an accurate number). IE MCT oil (coconut), avocados, almonds...etc.
Have a steady intake of proteins (1 gram per lbs of body weight). Go for lean protein. Chicken breast, turkey (watch the fat on it), lean cuts of beef (85-90% lean is the best).
Increase fibrous carbs meaning greens. IE Spinach, broccoli, Brussels sprouts, asparagus.

The Todd!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! nice

high five!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Jwar Man,
The tips on nutrition are wicked helpful.

I love veggies, but I was hitting fruits pretty hard, sounds like I gotta lower the fruit intake and up the veggie intake a bit.

I think I might stop taking all my supplements for a week or two and see if I feel better. I've been real drowsy lately and it's messing with me. I can go and make myself work out just fine, and even make some gains, but the rest of the time I've been sleepy throughout the day, I don't feel rested, can't focus on drawing, etc..... For a while I thought it was because I wasn't sleeping enough, but I'm getting 7-8ish hours a night, eating well.... The only thing I can think is that my body is maybe getting screwed up from all the different supplements I've been taking, especially magnesium, which I wonder if I'm overdoing it with.

I'm going to try..... tryyyy to just eat well, and get more veggies than I have been. I'm pretty good about getting them, but I feel like I might need more. I'm getting a decent serving for something like two meals out of the day, but I eat like five times. Which also makes me wonder if it's possible that I'm eating a bit too much. I'm not really gaining weight though, so.... :idk:

Basic question about push-ups:

My hands/wrists fucking kill me when I do these. Are wrist braces my only solution? Will it get better? When I was doing yoga every week I had the same problem. My mom had terrible carpal tunnel syndrome for a big chunk of her life, which began when she was weightlifting in college and persisted the rest of her life as she was a teacher and writer and had to type all the time. I get wrist and hand pains a lot and have to wear a wrist brace when I work so that I can play guitar and drums without pain. Now I'm trying to get in shape and these pushups are fucking excruciating. It doesn't help that I'm 280 so it's not like with weights where I could start small. Thoughts? Should I just say fuck p'ups and burpees altogether?

After a few years of laziness and self-neglect I finally bought myself a new bicycle last month. I've wanted a road bike for a few years but couldn't justify spending that much on myself.
Well after I weighed myself in May I realized I needed to do something about it so I splurged and got the bike.
I've been riding as much as I can and am up to 20 miles with a goal of going 40 miles before winter.
Additionally I've been paying a better attention to how much I'm eating. "What" I'm eating hasn't been the problem as I eat pretty "clean" but as part of the self-neglect I developed a few bad habits.
I'm proud to say that in the last month I've already dropped close to 10 lbs!
Exercising is something I've never been fond of but biking is enjoyable so I figure I'll just do that. Maybe I'll take up yoga at some point too???
