Every time I've seen yob in the past chunk of years mike's been playing two half stacks, and most of the time it's definitely his own gear. It's not what I'd call an inadequate amount of ampage by any means.

Yeah I wouldn't say they were quiet by any stretch of the imagination. Really glad to finally check them out live, since I didn't get into them until they were broken up and they're on your half of the country. Acid King + Yob in a week was definitely a dream come true in that regard.
Yeah, Mike's setup for this run is great. That Superlead/bass clone is his. I think it's a Metro build, not 100% sure. Tom from Sea of Bones built the cabs he's using. They sound absolutely massive. Love that dude and that band. Seriously great folks.
Got to see 'em here in Denver in my personal favorite venue (HiDive), which has a sub-200 capacity. They could've played any of the bigger rooms, but I'm so glad that HiDive got 'em. Easily in the top 5 shows I've ever seen. Plus, that setlist hoooooly shit
Ball of Molten Lead, In Our Blood, Burning the Altar, The Mental Tyrant, Marrow, Quantum Mystic
The hangover+bangover combo the next day was totally worth it.
Yeah that setlist sounds about right (although we didn't get Quantum Mystic, which is a shame or anything off of Elaborations [which I didn't expect but I would've loved to see Pain of I or something]). Brighton is like, 300 max? and this was about half full. Definitely a debauched evening.

From the comments: "So if the vocals were recorded over tape running at 1/2 speed, then by playing the 33rpm record at 16rpm, aren't we essentially hearing the original singers as they actually sounded while recording? i.e. instead of hearing the backing track at normal speed and the voices at 2x speed, aren't we hearing the backing track at 1/2 speed and the voices at normal speed? Those vocal performances are pretty wild if that's true."

Yeah, when I saw Black Cobra in 2011 at Scion Fest he was using like 4 orange halfstacks I think. I was kinda drunk, but I remember a shit load of orange for a one guitarist/drummer band.
Yob played The Unreal Never Lived front to back and then closed with Marrow. What a fucking powerful performance. And Black Cobra crushed it. My ears are still ringing and I wore earplugs the entire time.
