I also have an MS-20 mini. A tip that might be helpful: if you want to create bass sounds with enough punch, turn up the HPF (I like it at "4") and HPF Peak to a high value. Some complain that the MS-10 sounds so much better for bass sounds than the MS-20, but the HPF trick shifts the MS-20 into bass territory.

I used to have an MS10 (still technically own it though it's at a friend's place 10,000 km away) and a limited edition educational MS20 a long time ago, the one main trick I used to get good gritty sounds is to use a small plug doubler (cf picture, though you'd need one with minijack for the new version) on the main output and to plug back one of the two outputs back in the synth's external input.

Thanks for the tip guys! I printed your tips and put them in the manual to try them out next time I power up the ms20. Which will probably be tomorrow since tonight I'm taking my daughter to see Episode VII!

Does the MS 20 have the ability to move both the high and low pass filters at the same time/interval, without having to tweak both knobs?

Saw a tutorial video on Korg where the guy simply joins them with a rubber band. Twist the rubber band into a infinity symbol if you want them to move in opposite directions...

the Korg tutorial videos are actually so comprehensive they put pretty much every other builder to shame.
MS-20 Mini is hot, will probably pick one up in the near future.

Re: Let's see your KEYS/SYNTHS!
The old Korg MS manuals were awesome and I think they just reprinted them for the new version of the MS20. If I didn't have a modular I would have picked and MS20 mini, I see them for 30k yens used sometimes... Great synths, especially at that price.
Also, getting a Yamaha Reface YC soon (it should be on its way), looking forward to droning all over the place and processing it with pedals and modular
