Heh. Tag teaming different threads.

Custom 100/Jcm 800. 800 into slant cab celestion 65s and 75s , 100 into bottom cab--celestion 75s. Both are in the low inputs. Masters both dimed, pre's at about 5. Depends on the venue. I use them both basically as power amps. Clean, loud. Push with compressor and just a hair of dirt from the monarch. Fuzz to taste. Mids cranked, bass and treble depends on guitar usage.

Not....ALWAYS. But, I'd say.....85% of the time. At least in Lo-pan. Brujas is a way different beast. A lot of cleans and such there.

Man I want a flying v. Should have put one together before Gibson lobbed a sueball at Warmoth.

I finally had time this weekend to work on the Mig I scored for cheap because it needed some TLC. New pots, power/standby switches, fuse holders, input jacks, knobs, and all the woodscrews in the headshell have been replaced by threaded inserts/tee nuts and bolts. Still needs new output jacks, electrolytics, and I'll probably change the indicator lamp, but it's getting there.

Just the fact that we are talking about it has probably triggered Gibson's lawyers
Can you say Gibson??

Purple Jumper is sweet

Totally lost on all the amp work people do.

#leftyproblems. I do dig Warmoth's switchback, so that may still happen at some point.

The Sovtek was a happy accident, actually. I was looking for an SF Bassman but came across this for less than the closest Fender. The Mig 50 is basically a tweed Bassman with an ss rectifier, so, score.

I hear you. I don't have any sort of electronics background, but I started working on guitars, and then pedals, and then once I was comfortable I started poking around in amps. Granted I'm the sort of person who's predisposed to this sort of thing, and I can't really explain it beyond saying that after a while schematics just start making sense. It helps that amps aren't complicated circuits. It's also good to have a cavalier attitude towards potentially lethal voltages.
