I've said this before. I genuinely hate Primus. Les Claypool inspired a generation of unintelligible wankery.

Basically the blues lawyers of the bass guitar.

That is all.

Primus got me out of my Weird Al and Johnny Rivers funk years ago. They'll always be awesome for that at least...they were also the best thing on the radio for a good long while there in the 1990s...

5 years is a long time to be wrong about something...too many puppies I guess.

Man, I would love to see Primus...my wife got to see them (and I am jealous...she isn't even a fan...and I think it was with Prodigy??? I don't remember, it's her memory haha)...they got banned from playing in my hometown (no rock festivals permitted at the time...I think it was Lollapolloza or whatever...didn't carea bout that..just was about my only chance to see Primus).

Have fun Dark Side Knight.

Yes, I know I'm a crumbum.

And it's one of those things that I could let be if it wasn't so prevalent and (IMO) detrimental in the music scene around me.

Too much slappy, jammy nonsense. Around here, the second you play something that doesn't sound exactly like The Grateful Dead people just shut you out.

Now the grateful dead suck...

I worked with this dude and we were moving shops so I picked up some overtime...he looked like redneck weird al (seriously same hair and glasses)....he was the biggest Dead head I ever met...used to follow them around for like a damn decade or something selling showers at his hotel room or tie dye socks...

Anyway, I was working late with him moving several lifts of pipe by hand ('cause the boss was cheap). He gets hot or some shit and takes off his shirt to reveal the biggest swastika his back could handle...with all the third reich shit too...I fired him and told him to get out of the shop before I did something (implied threat...not actual threats, I ain't dumb)...he was like "Don't fire me...you're just like me...we are all peckerwoods fighting the infestation/white boys gotta stick together, have you seen Oildale lately*." I said, "I ain't nothing like you" and chased him down the street with some pipe to his motorcycle and he ran away...

The fucking nerve haha....my boss hired his dumb ass back and hid him on job sites away from me...like damn...what an ignorant fuck. In the workplace, to a guy dating a woman from Peru with Black co-workers around and most of my friends were from Mexico...what a dumb shit haha...Plus, what a freaking wuss man...like I was 20 year old suburban college kid, he was 50 I think and been in prison a few times...damn just going by what each one has to loose, he had the upper hand...people are such idiots and weak...

furthermore, why even care who's who and from where or what the look like? Just go about your business...shit man haha. Even weirder was the fact that our boss was gay and dude made a few comments about that too as I chased him off...I just can't get over his ignorance...

Dead fans haha (not to stereotype all dead fans, just that guy sucked)

*probably doesn't make any sense to anyone...but it is/was a kind of weird outlying section of my hometown that was largely redneck (the bad kind...not the funny kind) for a long time...good riddance to that bullshit haha. Push those racist a-holes out.
-----
Which reminds me of one of the most random conversations I ever had...I was like 18 and working at a newspaper and this guy with a mullet, wranglers, and kind-of a Jeff Foxworthy look was talking to me about his nephew...he had taking him in after the nephew got caught up in some Skinhead crap...he wanted me to talk to the kid because he wasn't getting through (me and the nephew were the same age). Told me to tell him about my life, because the kid was full on bonkers.

He told me thanks for talking to him...and it has been hard trying to keep a homophobic, racist kid in his house...because the kid ran off his last two boyfriends...but he believed in the kid and he would put off "Finding the right person to love and care about" until the kid was out of trouble and just being a descent human.

I later found out that that guy stood up, as the first guy to speak out and start to push back a KKK parade in NorCal at some point in the 1980s or 1990s (I can't remember). Him and his other friends eventually pushed them out of town (think it was Red Bluff) that day...I think there was some violence...

Pretty awesome random conversation with a some guy I worked with that never ever talked...literally the first things he said to me were so crazy and awesome...just boggled my mind haha.

Man, my time in Chico was a trip...to many interesting people...from snipers, to special forces, to black sheep wine baron kids...weird times

I don't even dislike the dead. The jam band scene is just so prevalent around me and I see it as being very bland and stagnant musically.

Hippies do suck.

Haha, Galvar, I like how that first story escalated out of nowhere.
