Super Nintendo titles are coming to Virtual console on 3DS! Currently Super Mario World, Fzero and Pilotwings are live. Later this month we get Super Metroid, DK Country and FUCKING EARTHBOUND PEOPLE. HYPE!

i'd *kill* for Super Metroid.

So I never played the Metroid series when they were current. I have the original on my 3ds...is Super better?

I'm also confused as to why they are only for the New 3ds.. I wouldn't think the old one would have difficulty with them, unless it's strictly to sell units.

Does anyone mess around with console commands on PC? I love experimenting with how many mini nukes I can launch before my game crashes. It gets to the point where the screen goes completely black and the audio sounds like a shitty MP3 of explosions being run through a bitcrusher.

Or spawning 50 Behemoths to fight a large army of BoS paladins.

I haven't done any of that myself but I've seen the videos on YouTube and it looks rad.

Super was a very good game. the original and II: Return of Samus are bit weak and difficult to play. Super Metroid is the formula Metroid Fusion and Zero mission followed which were fun as fuck.

i didn't look at the page with the info very much but it looks like they'll be available for the 3DS in general via the Virtual Console.

weird i went on the eShop tonight and sure enough the new Virtual Console SNES ports are for the *new* 3DS only. weird. luckily i have one. i'd still kill if i couldn't play Super Metroid or A Link to the Past.

Ah, damn. That sucks. Well, I can still download NES-games, though. And in 99% of the cases where I feel like gaming, I'll just pick up whatever Zelda game feels the most right for the occasion. Zelda master race.

it's one thing releasing half a dozen variants of every DS they come out with but making non-backwards-compatible stuff that's 99% the same as the previous console is just
honestly i don't dislike these games at all but the fact that they're getting all this hype from just re-releasing old games when there are hundreds of new 3DS games that haven't/won't be localized for release outside japan really ticks me off.
yet sony releases a handheld every 10 years or so with no compatability issues within each generation, completely region free games and actual decent graphics performance and nobody fucking buys it.
oh well, i wanna work in game localization and this shit just fuels my passion


also, does anyone here get motion sickness with first-person games?
i've always had some degree of motion sickness and have been noticing it more since i got really into first-person exploration/puzzle/mystery games, mainly on PC. Kairo was the worst for me until i started playing The Witness recently and I go about 30 minutes until i get extremely nauseous/dizzy. i stopped over an hour ago and i still feel like I wanna vomit.
