Dude, that V-1 opened my eyes to the level of quality that Scechter is capable of. Thing is badass all through.

very cool
I have a negative opinion of scechter
both because i can't spell it
and because i think I have only tried the real low end stuff

Re: Let's see your GUITAR!
I bought this:

Then I swapped out the selector switch with a switchcraft, and a black bezel:

Then I tore out the crappy guts...

Then put in Seymour Duncans: A jazz neck pickup, and a custom '59 hybrid trembucker in the bridge.

Then the hard part...ouch:

Then installed new pots, wiring, and tone caps with my wee little soldering iron:

ready for the knobs...

and now here's my final product:

Jazz pickup is switchable between series and parallel operation, while bridge pickup is switchable between single-coil and humbucking operation. Much versatile yummy goodness.

Thanks man! I've been through a few guitars and could never get things the way I wanted, or bond with them...until this one.

The pick guard itself was gorgeous and a total work of art. Its a shame about my dremel skills though...

So, this...

is now this...

After going through the '57 Classics & 490R/498T combo I decided to finally slap in some singles since I'm just not a humbucker guy anymore. Went with a TV Jones T-Armond in the neck, and BG Pure 90 in the bridge. Awesome upgrade. The guitar plays so much nicer with my ge fuzzes and treble booster, and I love the neck clean tones like my first teenage crush.
