Re: The Video Game thread
I fully agree with the companion AI. They're all terrible. Prior to Automatron I was just going with Dogmeat because he's at least a little bearable. It's honestly much better to just go alone. But it's so nice to have a pack mule.
I'm thinking about trying a play through in the new (or still upcoming?) survivor mode. It actually sounds ridiculous though. They were going for something similar to Dark Souls. Everything is more lethal, no fast travel, can only save when you sleep, no enemy radar, illnesses and diseases, immunodeficiency from radaway, fatigue which effects AP, and the normal wellness stuff (need to eat, drink, sleep, etc)

Everyone needs to Play Hyper Light Drifter. Gorgeous pixel art 2d hack n slash rpg in the vein of old Zelda games, Nuclear Throne and Dark Souls. I get a distinct Miyazaki vibe from this game too, definitely feels like Nausicaa and some of his other works.

I kickstarted that shit 3 years ago, I'm so glad it's finally out.

Re: The Video Game thread
I'm just waiting for Dark Souls 3. Debating between PS4 and PC version.
PS4 plus : nice dualshock4 controller, everything works without having to do anything, usually good multiplayer community, no hackers
PS4 minus : won't go over 30fps and a few places where it drops a bit apparently
PC plus : I'd get 60 fps on max settings with my beast of a PC
PC minus : a bit more cumbersome to get the dualshock 4 controller to work, probably xbox type button prompts ingame, potential hackers (though probably rare)
The framerate is the main thing, as it could make the whole experience nicer. Still not 100% sure...

Hope my 360 controller will work OK with DkS3 PC. I've managed a media blackout since the first network test. Hype!

Yeah, no reason why it wouldn't work. I prefer the dualshock 4 but the 360 controller will work fine...
I've avoided almost everything that could contain any spoiler too, so far

Re: The Video Game thread
I don't even remember seeing hackers in DS2 or SoTFS, I wouldn't be that worried about that.
I'm so fucking excited though. I hope magic isn't entirely worthless in DS3.
I haven't read a god damn thing about DS3 other than it's release date, and the hype train is just increasing here.

I haven't heard a thing about it either. Not even a release date. I'll have to play on PC though because I'm not buying a PS4.
I came across some "hackers" in DS2. Just people who didn't take any damage no matter what I hit them with.

Next. Tuesday.
Dark Souls 3 will arrive next tuesday.
And I learned today that next wednesday is basically a holiday for me. This is good timing

I've read in at least one review that the reviewer had significant gripes with the framerate on PS4 dropping. I'd go PC. I don't know if I'll get Ds3 right away or wait for the complete package (like sotfs) later. I always beat the game before the DLC and the NG+ DLC is usually challenging to the point where it I don't really have the time for it.

Yeah, I'm 90% sure I'll get the PC version now. I've got a nice SSD so load times should be 1.5-3 seconds, and I should get an almost constant 60 fps at max settings with my computer.

Prepare to get your ass kicked in Hyper Light Drifter. Got through the first boss by the skin or my teeth.
