Any time I try to make a focused effort with music, like writing a song or structuring a piece, it just feels like shit and I hardly come up with something. Sometimes I feel like I need to defeat this mindset and just play, because that's when everything feels the best, but I actually do want to have some tangible indicator of this effort. Feel like I want to purge everything again. Packed it all away. We'll see.

i have a broken Ditto x2 looper. imagine my surprise and delight to discover that they only warranty foot switches for 90 days, and the thing is nearly a year old. now my only hope is that Prymaxe will feel guilty and exchange it for me. otherwise it's back to the Head Rush.

Sometimes I fucking hate tryingto write anything. Been like that for the last few months, and it's somehow managed to be my biggest annoyance about my life. It's weird too, because I amost never really try to write riffs or anything, they just sorta happen, and I can't forget about them (which is good cus if I have a riff that I literally can't keep outta my head, it's probably good). That's not the problem, it's trying to get lyrics out. It gets to the point sometimes where I can't even come up with a single line, and all of the tricks I use to force lyrics don't work. Gonna have to figure out a way to get something out before I go insane...

Hope you're able to figure out what your issue is + work around it, cus not being able to come up with music is shit.

Tore a chunk out of my thumbnail on my picking hand cleaning up a banjo at work yesterday, about a third of the way into the quick. Wouldn't bother me so much if it wasn't the EXACT GODDAMN PART of my nail that I use when I play. So, I'll be having to adjust my fingerpicking technique, which at least gives me an excuse to sit down and actually focus on playing a new way.

Hurts like a motherfucker, though.

This reminds me that I really should get around to learning to finger pick, or at least hybrid pick properly. All I really do now is use pick + middle finger, but every time I try to do more, I fel like an uncoordinated jackass, and just give up.

Ugh, a friend just told me that she's having heart weirdness and is worried that she's caused herself serious heart problems. She says she made an appointment with her doctor for this Thursday, so I'm hoping that she'll either be okay, or at least have an issue that's easily treatable if there is something seriously wrong. Fuck EDs.
