So like the 20 second delay time on the Echolution? You play the foundation part, then next time it comes around, you play a melody line over it, then the next time they both come around, you play embellishment...etc.?

Yes! Many pedals do things like this. Like the aforementioned PDS series delay pedals, Boss RV3 and PS3, or even the Industrialectric Echo Degrader. The El Capistan does this too, though you can choose the loop start/stop points if you want, but dont have to.

I'm sure it can do that. It's such a vast engine, I can't imagine it wouldn't. I'll mess around on the algos and see for sure.

So from what I'm seeing the longest delay time is 2.6 seconds. So not super long, but certainly long enough for most applications. I read on the gear page someone wanting 8 seconds, which I've never seen, but maybe I'm ignorant.

The pedal oscillates when you max out the feedback or when it's about 3/4th's of the way there it can do that as well. It's pretty crazy. You can get some really strong feedback. hah.

Thanks for the info. Sounds more like typical delay with the oscillation at max settings. But I am causually wondering what may be tweaked in the editor. I'm not the kinda guy that likes dabbling with those digital voodoo doohickeys. At least the pedal layout is more user friendly than the H9s and they improved the look over the old tampon dispenser aesthetic.

I just got a nemesis too. It is really slick, but I'm pretty sure it does not have any sound on sound or looping. It's got a standard hold but there is no overdubbing into the delay line.

The neuro app is ridiculous for making your own presets. A single preset can have diffusion and distortion and tremolo and filter sweeps and high cut and low cut. Basically anything from any of the presets can be combined into one preset.

That looper is phenomenal for what it is. I have been considering picking one up again just for the looper to be used alongside my trusty DL4, an upcoming Revolver DX, and maybe another DL4, or that Montreal Assembly 856 looper.

active pickups aren't bad at all but how many boutique builders even test their pedals with active instruments? you can't really expect it to work the same as with passive pickups, there's too many variables involved.
if i went back to actives i probably wouldn't touch any analog modulation or delay and use a hi-fi rig instead. kinda defeats the purpose of having a great signal to noise ratio if you start using analog pedals, surely.

Active electronics 9/10 work just as well with analog circuits as they do with ANY other circuits. I've owned a metric fuck ton of pedals and have always played active. No issues. Repeat, no issues. I have a mixture of analog and digital, it does not matter. What matters if if the circuit can handle the extra headroom and power being pushed by the active pre. Which again, most cases it can.

Also, my signal is amazing in regards to noise ratio even with 25 pedals in line, analog, digital...again does not matter. LOL.

Almost all boutique builders are savvy enough to test their shit with actives now. There are only a handful, maybe not even that, that I can think of who do not push them that hard.

Regardless, the issue is the with the modulation being pushed more than it can handle, which means my pre is too hot or the trimmers again have been fucked with (more likely the cash). If anything, with an active bass I get more out of pedals than I do with a lifeless, dull passive.

Passive basses suck ass IMO. Now I love passive guitars. Totally different beasts.

If the circuit wants to see a high impedance signal its not going to have a very good time with active pickups. But perhaps your 10th pedal in that estimation was every single FF derivative ever made.

Nice board! Some questions/thoughts:

-Oooh a Decomposer, nice! That thing sounds friggin' amazing from the demo videos I've watched. I would love to get my hands on one of those. And a Megalith. And a Frequency LSD.

-How would you describe the Wooly Mammoth? Ever compare it to a Mastotron or Fuzzolo?

-What are the two pedals in the upper left corner of the board?

-What does the Switchblade Sound Sculpture thing do?

Hey I run the Woolly mammoth with the pinch knob maxed or almost maxed so it should sound the same as the Fuzzolo, I've heard that the Mastotron uses a different transistor pair and so it sounds different. For a tight synthy gated fuzz it's my favorite out of many that I've played, runner up for me would be the Copilot Orbit.

The top left pedals are a Dunwich Volt Thrower and a D*A*M Ezekiel. Both great, the Volt Thrower is Rat based and my favorite dirt pedal I own, but the D*A*M gets tons of use also. I use both as heavy OD with bass and they see tons of use. Even though I have 3 fuzzes (and the Ezekiel can do fuzz, so 4) I don't use a lot of fuzz, but I like having the different flavors.

The Switchblade is a fancy pants programmable bypass looper. It's expensive but they are on sale right now, still expensive. I use it for everything, engaging multiple pedals at once, to other multiple pedals with one stomp, parallel blending, expression volume, order swapping. It's a beast! Biggest gripe is the editor is Windows only...

If I had to sell everything and just keep one pedal, it would probably be the Volt Thrower, for my needs it's the best! Although I would probably really miss the Barbershop if i did that...
