I'm playing GTAV again. Really felt like something fun and easy following all the DS3 I've been playing.

I can't say I mastered it, but to me it felt like all the mechanics in the game work to make you feel powerful. I went to a party that was mostly top tier players. There were some crushers playing, but I still had fun even if I hung out in the basement of the score board.

So, is it actually worth getting into Overwatch? After feeling disheartend by MGO3's seemingly ceased Dev Support, I'd like a new MP game to chew on. Though i've been hesitant to try OW because the rabid fandom comes across as over the top to the point of it being almost intimidating. :idk:

Even again, I generally like any game that isn't CoD and Assassins Creed - so I probably wouldn't have anything to worry about.

If you like first person shooters with objective based death matches, get it.
It really is a lot like TF2.
It's $40, really well done for the most part and they have a long term plan for supporting it.

I do enjoy playing, but it's not something I sit down and play for 4 hours. There isn't a whole lot of depth to it. No progression system beyond cosmetics. Frankly, I'm surprised such a barebones game is so popular....oh wait...it's blizzard.
The gameplay is pretty tight.
I do a match or two by myself on weekdays then play something else (I can't stand the repetition), and play til late night with friends on weekends.

Rabid fandom is right, but I haven't gotten any hate in game for sucking. idk.
Those same fans ground my new favorite game into dust......for next to no reason. :( (battleborn)

Yeah. If you have any affinity for Team Fortress, it's worth a look.
I've seen a few people start to talk junk to the team, and I always make it my job to shame them for being upset over a video game.

Got called a "fucking pussy' after getting killed while being logged into a Skirmish without any really knowledge of what to do. But After a couple of hours i've gotten used to it, I enjoy the fact that I can play as support and heal people rather than being fed to the lions. Right now, i've been chilling with Mercy for my best results.

I see Overwatch being really got for about 20 hours and then getting your fill.

Look at my wishlist during a Steam sale and I'm underwhelmed again. If I get anything at all, it'll be Helldivers.

It's substantially more replayable with friends....imo.

...but yeah, not much to it otherwise......until they release more.

Steam sale was ok for me. Got Half Life bundle, Street Fighter IV and Titan Quest (since I like Grim Dawn).

Going on a long train ride tomorrow. Bought RE: Revelations 1+2 and RE:Zero on Steam. Will be fun to catch up a bit on the series. I played Zero years ago, but I don't recall much of it. I remember it being super cheesy (even by RE standards), but it beats just staring out the window. :joy:

Still haven't bought anything but I have Helldivers and 20XX sitting in my cart.

Single data point to 'Steam Sales aren't as good as they used to be':

Summer Sale '13: I picked up Fallout New Vegas Ultimate Edition for $4.99.

Summer Sale '16: FNVUE, now 3 years older, is priced at $11.99.

Giving Fallout 4 another try, stopped dead after 2 hours on my first attempt.

Decided to cheat a little and boosted my crafting skills via console commands and i'm enjoying it a lot more now

Crafting is heaps of fun.
That snap to system is a little buggy at times though.
