Yup, yup. I hate the phone has made everyone (myself very much included) just expect everyone else to be constantly available and present. No one is patient, everything is an emergency. Fuck this. Now with smart phones it's like, if you're not the most engaging motherfucker in the room, people will just look at the internet and ignore you. Addictive Cyborg Existence is terrifying.

Ugh. This.
People are just fucking rude now. Mid conversation and they're like, "fuck this, what inane shite is on my Facebook feed that I checked 30 seconds ago." Then they have the audacity to get themselves in a fucking state because I could not give two shits about them!
No champ, you're a rude fuckwit. In the real world, people don't like that shit.

Years ago i did an arduous 8 day cross-country drive, broke down in the rockies for 3 days, had to spend a night camping in the car bc we heard a mountain lion, i was super depressed the whole drive, it was just shit. I get in to California, am super pumped to see people, go to a diner with someone i was in a long distance relationship with and two other friends who i'd never met IRL before. Within minutes all three of them were on their smart phones. I sat there and just said "I spent over a week in a tiny car, broke down in the mountains, drove over literal river beds in the desert, went 2500 miles, y'all can put down your phones for a night and pay attention to me." So they did. Fuck Smart Phonies.

Echoing that and adding on the point in every party now where it becomes "take turns showing cool YouTube videos on your phone" time. Look - I don't ever hang out with people, so here I am let's interact instead of stupid internet bullshit that we can all do alone okay?

Every time I go to parties I just end up arguing about libertarianism vs socialism or Dr. Who....
Or deal with the fact that everyone gets drunk when I can't because I have to drive.

I need a new job...... sorry for the long ass rant but I need to vent someplace or I'll do something stupid like get hammered (which I haven't done in literally years)

my workplace has been an absolute shit show for the last six months....literally one disaster after another....our company (who will remain un-named for some strange reason I can't yet rationally justify) has been rolling back our benefits and raises, all the while opening new locations all over... NOT EVER increasing the amount of labor we're allotted (meaning how many employees we can have) even though they come up with new procedures and policies all the fucking time... so they've basically been telling us "do more with less" for a loong long long time. People realize it sucks, then they leave, then we get new people in who realize it sucks, and they leave, so we never even have an actual full crew, and we have to train people constantly. NOW we have some employees who somehow give enough fucks to work pretty decently, but not enough fucks to not drink on the job and basically just take breaks whenever they please. I'm pretty sure said idiots will get fired, which will just screw the rest of us who are fucking stuck here even more.

Speaking of being stuck.... I can't seem to find anything different that'll pay enough for me to afford all my bills. Everyone always tells me "what about your art?! You should be making bank on your art!!!" That's been tough.... I've only sold.....1 original piece, EVER, although I did trade a few some years ago for tattoo work (which I have to admit was cool). EDIT: Some of you guys have traded me stuff for art and for that I am very grateful  ) Also, I need the time to go shmooze all the art-assholes in order to get some shows, and I don't have that time because I'm fucking working full time, often too tired to think straight after work, and I'm trying to get a job teaching at my gym (which I am extremely passionate about), which is not going to be a paying gig for a long while (still learning...), and certainly not a full time gig for who-knows-how-long. The worst is that I get so worked up about how much I hate being at my job while I'm there that I've been mentally too exhausted to be creative at home. So there's been almost zero art made, which means nothing new to add to social media, and nothing new to even try to promote. Also I make barely enough to pay the bills and eat well enough, so there's almost no money to be used on making art prints, etc....

FUCK JOBS. I've never been so frustrated in my life.
