Re: The Doom Room: ILF Edition
I had a Zoom 505 and the bassist in the band at the time had the bass version. Double whammy.

Re: The Doom Room: ILF Edition
I'm thinking about replacing the humbuckers in my LP with HB sized P90s. I get my dirt from pedals but my pickups don't generally like dirt. When I played with some single coils I got a lot more pleasing sound but I want something a little fatter and darker than a single.

BLK/TRI has some humbucker sized P90s that I wanna try in my Custom. What pickups do you have in there now?

Fuckin nice tele conkster!
P90's are sweet as, especially with fuzz...raw and clear! Definitely recommend them, on LP's they are great.
"Wizards not wands" beautifully put man.
Edit: actually that's pretty hypocritical of me to say, given my unwizardy wand-full gear, but i agree that most any gear can be used well, depending on the player.

Re: The Doom Room: ILF Edition
I have some Mean 90s in one guitar and I love the sound but the hum is a bit annoying.
It goes away in the middle position so I might rewire it for two volumes so that I can run both pickups at the same time with the neck pickup volume turned down.

Also - played the Fuzz Throne last night at a decent volume through a VTM60 and a Beta Lead and it is EPIC. Sounds so good and if you roll the guitar volume back a bit it gets crunchier and if you roll it up it sings more. Awesome. Sounds great on every setting and has the volume boost that pushes the amps the way they like it.

Thanks fallen!
I've had no energy this week so I've done no unpacking and setting up. Tomorrow is my day off so I'll try and hit it then.
Definitely looking forward to giving it a burl.
Zooms or whatever shitty guitar/pedal/amp combo/bad hesher metal (good 80s metal) you can think of totally qualifies.
That Tele makes me want to rub my balls.

Just stock Gibson humbuckers right now. It's a 1991 model and they're the ones that came with it. I love BLK TRI! I put a Crone/BKS combo in my baritone which I, sadly, had to sell. But those were the P90h pickups I was looking at actually

Speaking of Will, he's in Lord Mantis now, I think, and they dropped an EP I'm just getting around to listen to now:

That certainly SOUNDS sexy. Just put some money down on a sunn concert bass head. Now I gotta find a solid dirt box to push through it. Anyone have thoughts/experience with the Catalinbread Katzenkonig?

Not that particular box, but Rat + Tonebender is a pretty fucking awesome combination.
