I run a compressor post as well and it's freaking amazing! Fixes all peaking issues I had prior. Never thought about it until folks talking about it on TB. Go figure. LOL

It's an fet compressor based on the 1176, which is colorful and aggressive...adored for its gritty character when driven hard.
A circuit that makes everything sound better, basically :hobbes:

Hi everybody. My 2 pedalboards are still awaiting a few changes, I'll post when they're ready. Meanwhile: I've browsed a few pix on this thread and something struck me: almost noone is using a buffer/boost/whatever to strengthen up the guitar signal (even with 25 pedals on board!). You're still getting a correct signal in the end? No pedal that acts funny? (I'm not a purist, rock guitar is dirt, alright, but still, long chains generates problems most of the time...) So I'm curious...

My board has stabilized over the last few weeks because of recording. Usually I reconfigure it once a week.

^What do you think of the cat'o'dyne? Are you using it as a pedal or preamp? Nice!

The Cat is really cool. Lots of doomy vintage Matamp/Orange sludge tones in it. I use it as a pedal in this configuration but I have tried it on a 72 Orange Slave and it really kicked ass. Also used it as a preamp for my Acoustic 450 head and on bass it has the heaviest sound I've ever heard.

Awesome, thanks! I've been leering psychotically at the Iskrem Electro site for a while. Are you still building pedals and do you have a website beyond the Hypnodrone FB page? I can't get that LRGD youtube demo of your buzzaround out of my head.

I still build, but mainly for my own projects and a few local recording studios. I do make small batches if I find some cool cirquits and I can sell a few to friends or someone ask me to do a Buzzaround or whatever. Never going to make a living out of this so I didn't bother with the website ;-)

Often there's, at least, one pedal that's buffered in the chain, but ILF isn't really once of those places where you'll see a JHS buffer on a board. Most likely, if there are buffers, they're probably hidden underneath the board.

I have a compressor that I never bypass for that purpose. It's tubey and bassy. Not at all transparent. And I love it. Piano like clean sounds.

Also, a lot of the people with Giant boards don't play out with them, but rather have a smaller gig board. Or don't play out at all.

I used to have a huge board, but I've found out that having a select number of pedals makes me happier than a having a dining table for a pedal board.

That's how I am, love the big setups at home but if I'm playing out I keep it small

I just stick a Boss pedal at the end of my chain.
