Home guitar rig + shitty phone camera

Head is a re-faced ART Power Plant into an Aria true stereo real spring tube reverb, and a Hafler 150 watt power amp. Cabs are Randall Switchmaster 1x12 combos with the heads removed and have folded-horn sub ports.

Re: Let's see your AMP!

Just got this baby in a trade yesterday. Handwired Fender 5e3 replica primarily built with and housed in parts salvaged from an old organ. I believe he said there are 2 6L6s as the power tubes. Tube rectified as well. Single volume knob and a 3-way tone toggle (3 varying low-cut stages). The cab is also made from the organ (including the speaker cloth), and is loaded with 2 12" Fender Oxfords from the 60s. There's even whitening around the wooden edge of the head from heat dissipation changing the stain, so it'll change with age/use as well!
I only got to play it for 45 minutes or so yesterday, but plugging straight in it sounded AMAZING. Past noon it doesn't sound much louder per se, but it gets a really beautiful saturation & breakup when it's dimed. I also ran a little reverb in there and it sounded magical. Gonna run a few other pedals in today after work and see how she takes them. I've always looked on with envy at the people who have more than one nice amp to play with, and now I've finally joined the ranks and it feels G R E A T. I got this primarily for recording and bedroom playing, but I've got a gig Sunday and I might bring it out instead of my '79 silverface Twin Reverb like I'd planned. Suffice to say I am very happy with this amplifier so far.

solo tunes:
completed works || loosey goosey releases
associated acts:
Raab Zamboni (fake jazz/real noise//sax, modular synth, editing, misc) || Field Guide (my best friends//sax on 2 tracks)
I make t-shirts, patches, koozies, buttons, CDs, sometimes tapes, and eventually i'll start working on pedals again. DM me for pricing!

YOB, Ufomammut, Sleep etc. sounds without any pedals. Fuck yeah. Dopesmoker style fuzz when cranked...![]()
In this video I'm trying it out with 1x12" cabinet. 4x12" will be awesome.

20/25W seems more than reasonable power for an amp, my OR15 is only 15W and there is largely enough volume to cover the drummer...
I really do not get why 100W amps still exist!

Re: Let's see your AMP!
Well I think I should have build a 50W one. This amp has so much low end that it's good for bass too, but you need more power if you want to play it with clean tone in a band. Maybe I'll build different amp for bass.benoi31 wrote:More please!blackmass wrote:I've created the ultimate stoner doom amp for home/studioElectric Amp MV120 inspired preamp and Plexi 6v6 poweramp with TAD tubes (20-25w).

Sweet, although I think the line "My hovercraft is full of eels" should be mandatory whenever you post about this amp, not just on Fjesbok.

Love the Rock Master too. Is that a 6x12? For some reason I always find it kinda funny to see Peavey stuff overseas.

Re: Let's see your AMP!
Yup, thats the 6x12 with horn from the Festival series. Peavey probably had good distribution in Norway. Always some vintage Peavey to be found at fair prices. The Rock Master is awesome. 128 very loud watts.
