Late on the ball as per usual. However, concerning a few of the games mentioned in here:

Loved Fahrenheit/Indigo Prophecy back in the day, though the ending felt a liitttle too much. However, bought myself a cheap copy last year (when I actually bought a lot of classics from my childhood who I for various reasons didn't have access too any longer) and intend on replaying it on an upcoming gloomy sunday when band practice gets cancelled or so.

Played Heavy Rain as part of writing my first proper paper at university a few years back and thought it was allright, but a bit hollow at times. Not bad, but not brilliant either. However, playing something while studying it can take away the entertainment factor at times. So maybe that was it. Would really love to give Beyond a go one day too as I like Cage's style of games and absolutely love Ellen Page.

Someone mentiond The Last of Us too. Me and my gf have been thinking about getting a PS4 latey. One of the main reasons, at least for me, is my brother has a copy of The Last Of Us that he'd let me borrow. I played the first 20mins at his place a few weeks back and got suuuuper hooked. Only problem is I don't have a lot of time to play video games nowadays and I'm extreeemely bad at it, so it takes me a lot of time. Might get a PS4 just to play The Last Guardian though. Shadow of the Colossus is one of my all time favourite games and I've (like everyone else) been waiting for TLG for aaaaaageeeees now.

Legitimately surprised by how much i'm enjoying Pokemon Sun, 12 hours in and haven't felt the Pokemon fatigue yet. I enjoy that there aren't Gyms, even though the 'Trials and Boss Fight' are kind of the same thing.

I have to wait until Friday for my 3DS.

I'm "working" from home on Friday though.

On the Final Fantasy VII remake, this is one of my all time fave youtube clips.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j1vSYIHlMp8 (for some reason I can't get the embedded vid to work)
Seen it a million times. I love how the girl clearly isn't in on the whole hype from her young years but the dudes are just going bananas.

As far as the remake goes I'm not sur I'll play it. Replayed the original halfway through (then took the "eternal break") last year and I still love it. Also, a few years earlier, I replayed the first 15 hours or so indid small paper in conjunction with writing a small paper on hermeneutics at Uni. Really interesting to do an actual study and comparison on the different experiences with the game "now and then".

On Final Fantasy in general. Did anyone ever play any of the earlier ones? I've had FFVI or III (as I think it was marketed in the US?) sitting on a shelf for 15 years but never played it. My brother finished it though. I've still got to finish FF IX one day too.

Was anyone ever into any other JRPG's? I revisited both Suikoden, Suikoden II and Crono Trigger (not finishing this one, the Playstation port isn't really a good one). Got Crono Cross sitting around too waiting to be played. And yeah, the original first three Resident Evil games too, which I tend to plow through one by one some day. I did a lot of the first and finished the second many years ago. But yeah, had a huge nostalgic phase last year an started revisiting my faves. Got MGS too, waiting to be played as a (sort of) grown up, which my friend borrowed and lost along with a couple other games...

I think you'd have a much better chance at finding decent jRPGs on 3DS/Vita. The Bravely Default series is probably one of the best revivals of that style.

I hate Chrono Cross because I went into it wanting Chrono Trigger 2.

I haven't played FF's past 7, but I can't imagine liking any of them more than 6. What a game.

If you have even a mediocre PC, Steam has most of them now.

Yeah -- I know.

I still have a PS2 hanging around so I'm able to play all of my original PSone FF discs. I had been cruising through VII for a good minute but haven't had much time to get to the game room so I've been playing V on my iPhone.

Yeah, the amount of work they must have put into that is pretty insane, extremely well made.

OT:
Speaking of work put in, did you guys hear about this van Gogh film that is entirely painted?
