My copy won't show up until tomorrow.backwardsvoyager wrote:What's the verdict on XV so far? (i may be asking this a bit early, haha)
I haven't really been able to get into any newer FF games but was thinking of giving it a try.

Bought Ikaruga before the sale ended because it's cheap and because the internet insists that it's a GOAT and because if anyone ever found out I haven't played it they would know I'm a vidyagame pleb.
Also because the demo was fun.

So you're going to leak the FFVI remake to us, right? And you're fighting the good fight and insisting that its 100% Amano-based spritework, right?oscillateur wrote:FF15 was made on the floor above mine, buy it and partly pay my salary.

FYI, huge update to No Man's Sky.
Only had 15 mins to try normal mode and it seemed better. Will be playing more tonight to try survival mode (heard it's brutally hard) and creative mode (build bases and get a freighter)

I haven't had a chance to play it yet. Are the bases and freighter only in creative mode?GAS KING wrote:FYI, huge update to No Man's Sky.

Playing the last boss in Shin Megami Tensei IV Apocalypse in hard mode. Shit is fucking ridiculous. I love this series of games although this had to much waifu anime bait characters that annoyed me. Plus it was even more nonsensical then usual.

Re: The Video Game thread
Just past 7 hours in FFXV, still pretty good, though It was 4 hours in before I realized how the magic system worked. You can also buy the OST of previous Final Fantasies and play them in the car which is a nice touch. It's kind of nice having a JRPG with characters than can actually crack a joke and aren't wretchedly miserable, even Cloud Strife had some wit. It's on par with Xenoblade Chronicles right now.
I'm still an adamant fan of the ATB systems, but if the FFVII remake plays and has the same sort of tone like this then i'd be genuinely happy.

I haven't played a FF since FFX, but I kinda want to play this. Looks corny and fun.

I'm not 100% positive, but it appears that you can build bases and buy freighters in all modes. Or that's the jist I get: http://www.no-mans-sky.com/foundation-update/MrNovember wrote:I haven't had a chance to play it yet. It's got to be harder in normal mode because you need a lot mats and credits, and probably a huge grind/challenge in survival mode since things are so much harder/scarce.
I spent an hour in normal mode last night, and it's fairly similar to before, but the game runs better, graphics are better, biomes are more interesting and seems more thought out overall.
It's still a pretty chill game in normal mode. Just explore and do things.....just more better.
People are saying that survival mode is really great, hard, but really great. Makes the game mechanics interesting (rather than meaningless grinding).
I'll give that a try this weekend.

I love ATB. Really struggled with XII's battle system but after playing XIII I feel a bit more receptive and will be going back to replay. I'm genuinely excited about XV after reading this. Very nice.Andrew wrote:Just past 7 hours in FFXV, still pretty good, though It was 4 hours in before I realized how the magic system worked. Re: The Video Game thread
Spent the better part of the last week watching Giant Bomb make levels in Mario Maker. My wife is hooked on it too. We have a 3ds and Mario Maker is coming out in a few days for it, but for some reason you can't share and download levels. Big bummer. I don't want to buy a Wii U for one game.
