Those two did a number on me, too. Should go back and see what kind of effect they'd have now.

Haven't read any Mieville in a couple years...since an SF class in 2014. I'd start there with you, D.

City and the City is SO good. His Bas Lag stuff is definitely worth a visit as well—Perdido Street Station is a fave.

I just started this, been meaning to get to it for a while:

Steven Eriksson
Malzan Book of the Fallen – EPIC Fantasy – Fucking ridiculously long series and proper hard-core but great reading, he doesn’t mind building up a character for 3 books and then killing them off in once sentence!!. Weaves two massive storylines into a grand finale will likely take you a year to read them all.
  • i. Gardens of the Moon
    ii. Deadhouse Gates
    iii. Memories of Ice
    iv. House of Chains
    v. Midnight Tides < if you get here youll be like WTF just happened, don’t worry stick with it
    vi. The Bonehunters
    vii. Reapers Gale
    viii. Toll the Hounds
    ix. Dust of Dreams
    x. The Crippled God
Im not back. Im just front

I fucking loved Malazan. Tehol and Bugg are great comic relief.

You should read the Black Company Series.
