I sold a work friend my 6505+ combo for a deal so he could give his kid a kick-ass amp for Christmas. Turned around and picked this up for myself and pocketed most of the cash.

Guess I need some more gain pedals for the toanz.

Waaaaay more doom than those 6505 combos.
Built better, too.
Now but a Dr. Scientist the Elements and feel good about everything.

yeah I see that as an amp upgrade those old peaveys are killer

my dirt vote for that would be some type of RAT style pedal, but that's my dirt vote for just about everything

I think any US built Peavey is a killer, my china made 6505 combo was great for the price I paid.
The 6505 sounds great, but it did limit me to that sound.

Anyone know if the DrBlueslawyer types like Sylvania tubes?

A RAT has been on my list for a while, wouldn't pass up an Elements either. Now the hunt begins for gain.

It's not really a 6L6 until you have 6 of them. Now you should run it with a 4x12 so you can have 6 speakers.

Heh HM2, what are the good clones since I figure the originals are expensive now?

I plan on plugging it into my Gflex 2x12 loaded with EVM 12Ls. Once I either lug the cab upstairs to the amp, or bring the amp down to the cab.

Hm2 can occasionally be had on the cheap. Many of the clones are still more expensive.

Here's my bass rig:

It's a Warwick WA600 in a custom 19" headshell on an also custom made FMC 2x15"/2x8" cab.
I'm gonna make a new wooden panel with black canvas for the amp's headshell to replace the current aluminum one because it's rattling.

yeah my last HM2 was super cheap
key is to search E-bay
wait for someone selling one cheap because "the LED is dim"
Run it at 12 volts or daisy chained
and have fun

Yeah. Easy enough to snatch at $100 or less.
In fact I just bought a MIJ for $100.
