Not sure which thread to put this in but I'm about to quit my job and move 500 miles from home with basically nothing. Im starting over. Expect some stuff for sale in the next day or two. I need to find $200 so i have a place to stay for a week. Things are about to get weird. Weirder. This is the craziest thing I've ever done and I feel like it's what I absolutely have to do.

Sooooo, wait, is this something different than moving to the town where your lady and kiddo are? New plan?

My mom is a crazy person/control freak.
I want to move far away so that I don't ever need an excuse to not see them and don't feel terrible turning them away. Ugh.

Feel all that, bro. Michigan Mitten High-Five.
The most merciful thing in the world, I think, is the inability of the human mind to correlate all its contents.

Here's a petty thing.
Someone on Reverb gave me a 4/5 star feedback and didn't leave a reason.
I can't decide if I'm more upset about getting four stars or not knowing why.

if you know it may not make you happy, you may get one of those "i never give 5 stars" people,
but not knowing would make me crazy

It's the same for me on this carpooling app I use. Most of the ratings I get are 5 stars (perfect), some are 4 stars (excellent) and I got two 3 stars one (good) from people who basically treated me like a cab driver. Aggravating.

If it's any consolation, you could still become or remain a preferred seller (provided other feedback is in the 4-5 star range). Still, I agree that some sort of comment tends to make feedback seem less arbitrary.

On a somewhat related note, I may be faced with my first Reverb return situation (though my store policies and sales postings clearly indicate all sales are final). A buyer claims a pedal arrived DOA that was fully functional prior to shipping. The item in question arrived packed with another, free pedal included in the deal that, apparently, functions fine. I'm awaiting a response to various questions about cables, power supplies, etc, and hope the other party proves to be reasonable and honest in the end. This may also be my first postal insurance claim. What fun.

I've gotten 4 stars for stupid reason before, stuff that's way out of my power. So I don't blame you for being peeved. Some of my favorites include the dude from fucking Brunei Darussalam that got mad because his package took too long to arrive (I sent it the day he ordered.) That's the order that made me swear off international shipping to strangers. The other is a buyer who ducked a star because there was stamping on the pedal box...from the original retailer.

So last week was payday. As I was biking to my bank my check managed to fall out of my pocket. My boss and his wife (who print/sign the checks) were on a weeklong Thanksgiving voyage with their family at the Grand Canyon. The co-owner told me that he didn't know how/wasn't able to print me a new check or cancel the old one. It was also impossible to get ahold of the boss because they were literally in the bottom of a canyon. No biggie I thought, I can survive another week until they get back.

Fast forward to today: as my boss's wife is printing out a new check for me, we find out that someone else found and deposited it into their account. I then went to the. bank (same bank as the shop uses) and signed an affidavit saying that I didn't sign my check over for this random theif. I asked how long it would take for this whole thing to blow over and was told 10ish days. So here I am a week and a half later with some weird legal bureaucracy shit to deal with and no way to pay rent, which is due in two days. I can always ask my gf but I've been putting off telling her about the whole ordeal. The bright side is that I get paid again next week, but this puts a huge damper on holiday shopping and comfortable living.

Go to bst and please buy my shit so I can stay alive.
