It would have been great if they announced bundles ... and I pray that the Wiimote is usable , I know they can integrate it, why not?

Thus far it looks like a summer purchase for me, wait for the dust to settle and games to come out. :idk:

The whole 'game journalism' thing really makes cringe especially compared to this article which is so incredibly detailed, long and well researched. Hardcore Final Fantasy fans can rag on VII, but you really have to appreciate everything that went into it. I know i'm a total gushing fan, but even that aside.
This is novel length. Shiiiiit.

Not nearly as bad as kotaku but I grew up with subs to NP, GP & EGM. Actual games journalism.

I get the impression most of those keyboard crusaders hold their audience & games, themselves in absurd contempt. :idk:
FF7 does rule, however. Don't care about the remake in spite of that.

Oooh. Gonna check that out tonight. :thumb: Will be a nice info dump, as I have not kept up with the Switch at all.

And the Vinny + Dan combo makes for some fun shenanigans.

I've avoided everything about the Switch because I'm kinda pissed.

My kids' Wii U has been on life support since we got it, and with this I'm pretty sure it's going to be the utter end. I'm pissed because it wasn't cheap, and I presume they're not going to continue porting games to it, even the shit they play (which is all LEGO and Skylanders shit).

That means within the next couple months they're going to be all over my shit for something that actually has current games. I don't have the money, and honestly, other than the end of life aspect I don't even see a need. The Wii U was an awesome platform that just got ignroed and fucked by everyone, and it seems like even Nintendo fucked me over on it, too.

Which is a shame, because the Wii U was awesome and no one seemed to want to take advantage of the cool shit you could do with the GamePad (or whatever they called it, WiiPad?). It's such an awesome concept, it actually holds well (in my hands at least) and would make doing so much utterly boring shit easy and fun in a console game (such as inventory managment, the bane of my video game existance).

Soooo, Nintendo said "Sonic Adventure was good. Let's do that almost 20 years later." (For the record I have a soft spot for SA, but it was sort of the beginning of the now notorious decline for the series)
I spent that whole trailer trying not to think about Sonic '06. Probably not a good sign....

It would be cool if Nintendo could extend some of those WiiU concepts to the Switch. Imagine if you had two Switches, couldn't you treat one like the TV screen fed by the WiiU and the other Switch as the WiiU gamepad? If the Switch was $50 cheaper I think we could see some great possibilities ... multi switches for the same game to provide more horsepower ... distributed computing for the same game ...

That has photoshop written all over it ... but the idea is actually not that bad ... but Nintendo shouldn't hang their hat on that idea

The switch is going to be the console I've been wanting for a long time. I'm actually really excited about it. 300 bucks pre-order now http://www.nintendo.com/switch/. The screen with probably be the size of a PSP or like a DS, but you can hook it to your tv. It's a console and a portable system. Really cool.

I've been playing Dishonored 2. Just got to the very last part in 17 hours and realized I had missed a ton of the game by rushing through it. I decided to restart it and am not sure I'm going to replay the whole thing yet. It's a great game, but in a way it's disappointing as well. I wish it was longer, but it is what it is I suppose.

the screen is confirmed at 6.2 inches, which is only about an inch bigger than the Vita and your average smartphone (which is plenty for a handheld console).
i just thought marketing split screen multiplayer on the actual thing and not just on a TV was pretty funny.

Finished XCom 2. Played on easy and found the early battles still very tough. Save scummed quite a bit. One mission in particular found to be undermatched and undergunned against the aliens, so I found a stealth path to the objective to plant explosives, alerted the enemy when planted, and evacuated the next turn. The only way to complete it without losing a guy. My playthrough was rather more difficult due to the Alien Hunters DLC, which randomly adds a particular king version alien with a massive amount of health and would also take a reaction move/attack after each one of your moves/attacks/overwatch. So basically all my troops were frozen in place taking pot shots at the alien until the health would drop enough for it to try to escape, only to return a few missions later with the same lower health. It was brutally though. My first encounter with the last alien king was that he grapped one of my guys on a roof and took him into the air, my next trooper missed the shot that would cause him to let go, then the alien slammed the guy back down onto the roof causing two other troops to fall through three levels and hit a fourth guy, causing an explosion to hit the fifth guy. So many casualties. My poor sniper on the other roof was all I had left. Needless to say I save scummed my way throught that encounter too and eventually had to leave a high ranking guy behind because his sacrifice was the only way I could assure the other troops and VIP could escape. Good stuff. I spent many nights of my Christmas vacation killing aliens until the sun came up.
