And some of this shit. Dunno if it makes any difference
you might wanna check out thee Master Handbook of Acoustics by F. Alton Everest. you can find relatively inexpensive semi-rigid fiberglass panels if you're a diyer. diy asc style tube traps for all the corners of your room are
Wannabe DIYer at best But that looks like a pretty good read, thanks. Could you tell me more about those tubes? Links, photos, etc? Do you use them yourself?
Guitar first... then maybe the Sub 37... microgranny... Folktek... and use the Folktek Aether as CV keyboard as well... that sort of thing until my other modules arrive. Guitar into Clouds into Rainmaker should be fun though.
If you're interested in using your own field recordings I bet you could do some cool things with a Radio Music if you have an SD reader.

they are bass traps, up to like 20" tubes that you put in the corners of your room stacked floor to ceiling. also along your walls but semi rigid fiberglass boards are probably a better bet..its involved. basically bass builds up in the corners of your room, play music from your stereo and go stand in a corner to hear what I mean. there is more to it and that book goes into great detail. once you have them in your room you'll actually have a better bass response. i'll get back to you with a pm about the diy instructions, it was back in the early 2000's when I built mine. just some pink fiberglass, chicken fence and wood caps. then something like burlap to wrap them in to keep the fibers in.
quick google result, this looks like a severe case of tube traps haha
Yes, I found some threads and sites on the webz about the tubes - http://www.teresaudio.com/haven/traps/traps.html - are yours similar to these?
I know a bit about treatment, at least enough to know about bass traps and positioning of the elements, mirroring, etc. but thank you for sharing anyway It's definitely something I want/need to learn more about, so PM would be cool.
ps. that studio is I love how the person has both actual bass traps in the corners and then also tubes galore!

quite similar, I never could find that particular kind of fiberglass other than in 4x8 rectangles. I use these along the walls at 1st/2nd reflection points and on the ceiling. for the tube traps I used pink fiberglass that is compressed between two loops of chickenwire. Then routed some mdf caps. put the plastic on. wrap in fiber and then whatever fabric. I think 18" bass traps for the four corners, and a couple 12" stacks too. the "quick and dirty tube trap" does wonders too..just go to home depot or whatever hardware store and buy four of those big four foot bags of faceless pink fiberglass. make sure there are no holes in the bag or you'll be itchy. then stack those in your corners for an idea of what to expect. then you can use that fiberglass when you construct your tubes if you use the chickenwire method....or just return them to the store for a refund.
I hate how much I want that EHX canyon. The only consolation is the multi delay sounds a little weird and artificial which is the main mode I would use. But that was just from the one demo I saw. I haven't gassed for an EHX pedal in a long while.

We should have a game show à la Name That Tune
Inconuucl: I can shoegaze that tune with 5 pedals.
other contestant: I can shoegaze that tune with 4 pedals.

other contestant: OK, shoegaze that tune!

Definitely going to do field recordings so I'll look into that
