Btw, I saw you asking 'bout the Elk earlier, so I'll post some thoughts when it eventually arrives. Ordered it earlier this week and it should arrive with my final Lastgasp shipment in erm.. a couple of weeks. :yay:

I know a bit about treatment, at least enough to know about bass traps and positioning of the elements, mirroring, etc. but thank you for sharing anyway :) It's definitely something I want/need to learn more about, so PM would be cool. :omg:

ps. that studio is  I love how the person has both actual bass traps in the corners and then also tubes galore!
quite similar, I never could find that particular kind of fiberglass other than in 4x8 rectangles. I use these along the walls at 1st/2nd reflection points and on the ceiling. for the tube traps I used pink fiberglass that is compressed between two loops of chickenwire. Then routed some mdf caps. put the plastic on. wrap in fiber and then whatever fabric. I think 18" bass traps for the four corners, and a couple 12" stacks too. the "quick and dirty tube trap" does wonders too..just go to home depot or whatever hardware store and buy four of those big four foot bags of faceless pink fiberglass. make sure there are no holes in the bag or you'll be itchy. then stack those in your corners for an idea of what to expect. then you can use that fiberglass when you construct your tubes if you use the chickenwire method....or just return them to the store for a refund.
I'm gonna have to look into this, as my room is a clusterfuck of corners and the sound is really bad. Hope I can something useful in the dept stores we have here, they rarely have cool stuff. Pink fiberglass definitely sounds too cool for them to have lol. Thanks BOB.

sorry, didn't have a chance to see if I could find those diy instructions but I'll do some research. they are clones of the ASC brand of tube traps.

by pink fiberglass I'm talking about
http://insulation.owenscorning.com/home ... las-batts/

its just ordinary insulation you would find in a hardware store. here in the states its typically this pink owens corning brand. there are different types, some have kraft paper on one side. that would be desirable if you were going to diy panels but for the tube traps you want paperless or "faceless" style. One way they package them for sale is in a bundle of maybe five or six strips in a big plastic bag. the strips are four feet long by maybe two feet, so its a pretty hefty sized bag. This is what you would look for to try the "quick and dirty bass trap"...maybe google that for info. there is great information in that Master's Handbook of Acoustics regarding the size/density etc. for different applications.

If it is on par with the Mel9, Next Wednesday evening will be fun. I plan to experiment with the blend control and forcefeed it heaping helpings of thick fuzz.

Danke! I've been wanting to get one for ages. Btw, that must have been a tough cut, Dark. I remember you had a small PT board already.
