Plugged it in with the brand new power supply I had bought especially for this. The pedal gave off a loud hum and smoke started spewing out of the power supply.
So yeah. I feel like crying. No idea if it has been fried or if the adaptor was just faulty and the pedal is fine. I need to buy a new 18v plug and try it again. Expecting not to get any joy. Expecting to find out it's busted. Go me. :thumb:
Oh mannnnn, that sucks. Sorry to hear that. They're really good guys. I'm sure they'd be willing to take it back and fix it if possible....

It's crucial that you get one with the right polarity, in this case center negative, which is the standard for Boss pedals and the majority of pedals and adapters on the market, but not all.

I got a like-new Greenback, yesterday, for $50. I'm gonna try it out in my Princeton.

Ehhhhhhhh...I wouldn't go plugging it in again unless you double verify that power supply. If you saw smoke, that shit is not coming back on. You fried components there. Trust me, I've done it. It's going to need repairs. Probably the wrong type of supply. Maybe you accidentally used an AC and not a DC. This is why I wish builder who made things in non standard supply (IE 9v) would just include a power supply. It'd save everyone a ton of hassle.

That sucks ass man.

Says 18v DC. Can you snap a picture of the supply you used?

Smoke came from the power supply, not the pedal. Pedal should be fine.
