My replacement IC did "only" cost 55 EUR. Normally they are around the $100 mark. The Reticon chip is the reason why these flangers have their own sound.
Reticon are awesome!
The CCD in the 680 is pretty cool sounding with synths. (The earlier boss delay was one too). Same tech that's in photocopiers and space exploration cameras.

I believe early Morley and Amdek flangers used the SAD too.

Good find Pepe! (On the chip and pedal).
Thanks! The BOSS delay that you meant must be the big old DM-1, correct?

Now I'm also on the hunt for a Carlsbro Echo (analog delay) that has a Reticon BBD. The last few models that were sold in the UK in the last weeks cost less than 100 EUR. I'm sure it's an underrated model - or one that always flew under the international radar due to the lack of popularity. ("Carlsbro? What is Carlsbro?" :idk: )

Yeah, DM-1. The Amdek (Roland kit) DMK was a Panasonic BBD but used similar filtering to the DM-1.

Carlsbro does fly under the radar sometimes. Prices have been rising here I think (kinda been looking for a suzz off and on). I kinda like the look of their boxes (kinda systech).

I have another month of waiting (at least) for mine. How close was your expected ship date to the actual ship date?

Got a v1 cool cat fuzz incoming. Played a real Peachfuzz over the weekend, I think I found my perfect fuzz pedal, and if the cool cat is 80% as good I'll dig it. Gonna rehouse it if I love it!
