That's not bad at all! I can't wait to hear what it sounds like!Ruiner wrote:$675jwar wrote:Can you tell us what it went for? Dude wouldn't even say. LOL
I looked on the manufacturer's site and when they were available they sold for $555 new and now supposedly impossible to find so not too bad i don't think.
It's incredible! The quirkiness with the speed changes makes clocking drum machines from it a wonderfully chaotic mess.ritz wrote:Praying to the drone gods that all goes smoothly for you
Yea, that's standard Space Echo type array on that unit. With opaque plastic hood removed on a Space Echo:Ruiner wrote:No it's an actual tape delay. The tape is being fed. If you open up a lot of tape machines they're just loose like that and not on spools but the tape is essentially being looped like a reel to reel would be. It uses the same tape as a Space Echo.mathias wrote:
I have no idea what this thing is, so question out of ignorance: is it actually looping on that magnetic tape, or is that window and the tape just for show?

I forgot that tape did this. For some reason my brain says it needs something to guide it or it'll just tangle.. but it doesn't!rfurtkamp wrote:Early Space Echoes (the 101s IIRC) use a tape spool, but everything in the later ones on use the free-roaming loop.
Echoplexes use cartridge loops that are basically proprietary pre-cassette things loaded with 1/4" tape.
Then there's the various oddball Japanese things that use their own proprietary tape or dictaphone machine tapes, etc.
