Who would win in a gear fight based on sheer mass?

Ruiner or BOB

That's some pay per view shit right there.

That's not bad at all! I can't wait to hear what it sounds like!

It's incredible! The quirkiness with the speed changes makes clocking drum machines from it a wonderfully chaotic mess.

I have no idea what this thing is, so question out of ignorance: is it actually looping on that magnetic tape, or is that window and the tape just for show?
No it's an actual tape delay. The tape is being fed. If you open up a lot of tape machines they're just loose like that and not on spools but the tape is essentially being looped like a reel to reel would be. It uses the same tape as a Space Echo.
Yea, that's standard Space Echo type array on that unit. With opaque plastic hood removed on a Space Echo:

Early Space Echoes (the 101s IIRC) use a tape spool, but everything in the later ones on use the free-roaming loop.

Echoplexes use cartridge loops that are basically proprietary pre-cassette things loaded with 1/4" tape.

Then there's the various oddball Japanese things that use their own proprietary tape or dictaphone machine tapes, etc.

A 2x12 to go with the Reeves Custom 12 amp. It’s purple -- so I probably should have taken this over to the "purple nurples" thread.

The bass knob on the Reeves just didn’t do enough, and the Ampeg closed-back GVT-series cabinet I’ve been using has a Vintage 30 in it -- which leads to ice picks to my ears because it has more treble, and I’m playing a Jazzmaster that also has a lot of treble. Oddly enough, the Vintage 30 sounds great with the Ampeg GVT15 head that I have. Less ice pick-y through that amp.

This Panama cabinet was on sale on Reverb about a month ago and so I snagged it, cheap. It has their “Dark British” speakers, and an 80 watt rating. Plus, it has purple tolex and there’s a purpleheart baffle behind that metal grill.

Sadly, I can’t really recommend ordering from Panama on Reverb -- they took weeks to ship it out, always promising in messages that it would “ship soon”. I was basically over this cabinet 2 weeks ago, but I couldn’t get a refund through Reverb while the seller claimed it was in transit.

Now that it is here (exactly a month after I paid for it), I am enjoying its additional low end with the Reeves. I am not sure if it needs break in, but we’ll see if it changes much over the next few hours of playing through it.

I forgot that tape did this. For some reason my brain says it needs something to guide it or it'll just tangle.. but it doesn't!

Also, for years i've had a crappy half working computer speaker setup at work where i listen to more music than anywhere else. I decided to fix that. Got a tube amp receiver for $85!! Does line in or bluetooth. Also scored a vintage JVC KD-85 tape deck on Ebay for $75!! Supposedly these are excellent. Now i can plug my new OP-1 into the tape deck and record to tape at work while listening to playback with tube warmth through the receiver! :!!!:

Got back my Algal Bloom (what we'd call Algal Bloom XS now) in a box of pedals, back from what I thought was a permanent loan! Haven't seen it in 4 years or so... It is basically my prodigal fuzz.

Also in the box, my old Ibanez chorus.

Going to run it through the Reeves and new purple speaker cab over lunch today, for maximum purple!

Edit: just checked inside and this is Algal Bloom #149!

Not to be a spoiler, but as a FYI, if that's the Monoprice or equivalent bluetooth "Tube Amp", it'll be tube pre only.
