Decorative gourd season is officially over, motherfuqqers. 'tis the season to sing praises to our Robot Overlords. Did I say Overlords? I meant Protectors.rfurtkamp wrote:.......Robot Overlords.....
I dodged iteration one. The G Force/current unbranded ones are dead fine providing you use strings within the specified range. And I do, so...Jesus Was a Robot wrote:Hate the auto tuning system Gibson uses. I've always found it to be quirky and off. Maybe it's improved over the years though. I always though it was really gimmicky.
Never underestimate the amazing deals companies who ship a lot of goods have.rfurtkamp wrote:And I am now perplexed. I wasn't expecting them for weeks, because..well, Tronical is a German company.
Their "free shipping" is overnight.
I just got notice from FedEx - here tomorrow.
I ran the quote for overnighting a package of that weight from Hamburg....and it was $12 less than the order.
Yes. It's the only guitar I have currently with them, but they are really nice. I'm a big fan. I have a '97 PRS with the wing style lockers, but they aren't quite as good, they have a flat spot on the turning part of the post, and the winged collar has a notch cut out of it you slide the string in, and it turns and locks the string in the flat spot. They work OK.hbombgraphics wrote:9 to 80 on like an 8 string?BetterOffShred wrote:I'm certainly not bashing it or anyone who would like to employ it's uses, but it's definitely not for me. I just got a guitar with sperzel locking tuners on it Nd I'm a big fan of that. It stays in tune pretty dang good considering it's 9 to 80.
Can't tell if I'm being mocked... but yes 9-80 is nice on the 8 string, the low E is nice and full and makes my practice amp flub out pretty good. I dont Djent or anything, I just like the extended range.molokaio wrote:9 to 80?! Omfg... killer shit! Awesome.
For surecodetocontra wrote:I don't think there was any mocking intended. Maybe unaware of 8 string in use?
Or are you doing it right???codetocontra wrote:Extended range is cool if it is used right. Every time I try a 6 string baritone I sound like Korn because I am not doing it right.
Every time I think about 8 strings and djent dudes I get this urge to put a metalz type pickup in the bridge position of one of my ibanez 6 string basses...BetterOffShred wrote:I think a lot of people have a tendency to default to 2 string chugging when they play an ERG. So essentially the 8-string becomes a 2 string.
