I just signed up for a philosophy of language class over the summer. I'm a little nervous because I still have a bad taste in my mouth from forum member Wittgenstein.

Philosophy of Language was the hardest Undergrad course I ever took. My only "C" on my transcripts...it still haunts me.

We had three major exams in that class...each one she would give us a test prep of 8 questions and she would choose 2 for the actual exam.

The second exam we took, I was good on 4 of em, decent on 2, and clueless on 2. Guess which two she picked. I literally turned in my exam blank. You can't bullshit this stuff. I walked out of that classroom and it felt like the world was collapsing in on me. I had to bust my ass just to get that C after that Mother fucking exam.

It didn't help us either that our professor was fresh from a PhD and she sure taught it like a grad course. The one class I legit felt "stupid" all of the time.

That really blows. Even my rooted in math stats professor would give you points if you knew you had the wrong answer but at least outlined what you were supposed to do to get the correct answer and explained why your answer was wrong.

Also had a professor give me a 0 on a test question (worth like 25% of the whole test) because I didn't put "y=blah blah blah" as the first part of my work, even though the function was stated in the question... had the rest of the steps perfect. He even said "no one got the right answer".... Ya old bastard, 5 characters shouldn't DQ me from a right answer.

Oh man same. I had a question marked like 50% off because I wrote like dh/dt= and it was supposed to be dv/dt=.. I used the right figures just wrote the wrong differential character... had the correct answer too .. missed half the points ..
