Received my Plaits yesterday and I love it. (I am like 30 minutes away from detroit mod) Recorded a goofy fun jam with it. Will probably put the full video on youtube but here is 1 minute of me being a dork with it along with Rings and other drum modules. The borderline cuckoo-clock sequence in the beginning is all Plaits being sequenced and modulating the model input among other parameters. Add moar drums and a bass sequence from Rings.

I only got them on my instagram story  My computer dies any time I try and do something remotely graphics intensive so no videos from me until that gets resolved. I'm @evangordon on there though, they'll be up for another 12 hours or so. I might try and upload some audio if I have time between band practice & a show tonight.

 All I am saying is getting into eurorack was not as special and difficult as wigglers and youtube vlogs make it out to be and the most difficult thing about modular FOR ME is opening a mutables box! It takes me like two minutes to get the dang sleeve off!

Just racked up the Spectrum VCO and DLD and had a jam.

The Spectrum is pretty rad, I'll definitely find myself using the PWM on all three waveforms it affects which was a major draw. All the waveforms sound great, really nice layout, all the options at your finger tips via buttons are super handy. Also using the sub oscillator in conjunction with another waveforms as an LFO is super cool l, especially with the -1/-2 octave and square/saw options. Definitely a keeper.

The DLD is cool but will require a bit of work to master, which I'm up for! I definitely want to install the firmware that changes the behavior of the feedback loop cuz i don't really like how it works at the moment. Plus I think it might simplify how to set the levels. The mono normalization for both delays is really useful, and the infinite hold switches are very playable.

The Spectrum VCO is awesome. For the size and feature set, if you want a bread and butter VCO, I don't know if it can be beaten.

So is Plaits living up to the hype? Somehow I haven't caught the big wanting one. Still have my eye on the Hz Donut...

Got the DFAM today. It’s fun by itself, I’ve been sitting with it since I got home. Not too difficult to wrap the think sponge around. Sounds great, really stoked to rack it w the M32 and other goodies tonight and have a full on electro fuck sesh.
