I lost my job last may. Union, so I was only out of work for 2 weeks. I'm much happier at work now, and close enough to my new job to walk, so it was a good transition all in all. I will also be eligible under my old union contract to retire from the new company in 7 years and start drawing full pension at age 55. Thinking I just might take it as soon as I can, but not sure yet. I was very lucky to not have to dump any gear, but I have been there before, and will pour one out for my fallen modular homies tonight.

urf. YES. best wishes to everyone that shizz will go tits.... forward. soon?

i don't understand that phrase. Tits Up seems like a GOOD thing. like, wouldn't Tits Down be the bad version of a boob related collequialism? shits is CONFUSING.

yeah. hope dood is okay. but also.... that site is a HUGE thing. it's weird that it's so dependent on a single person. luckily dood that i ordered my uO_c from had my email from past interactions, so could confirm my new address. s'posed to go out tomorrow.

mannnnn i am IMPATIENT to get at least enough of my new music yarea setup to play with things. Erbes and Drezno and Precision Adder are here but sitting in a box. lonely. un-wubbled. SAD.

but. surprised at how quick our place is coming together. should be working on our Craft Town Yarea today. which..... we.... might have named it.

The Imaginarium.

Sorry to hear of all the lost employment in here. Definitely a down, down. I raise my glass to impending employment for all.

Also,

Incoming SQUID AXON and BENJOLIN. I will mate these two creatures until an unholy beast is birthed from the benthic depths.

Yeah this is shitty news everyone. I hope it all works out in the end!

On modular topic, anyone use MI Grids? How is it as a master clock? I'm tempted to get that instead of some of the other clock modules I was planning. Also, I realized that I actually have room in my plan for the other impending Mutable releases. I'm actually pretty excited to see what the Peaks replacement is as I was planning on adding some more envelopes to my rack and might prefer it to the Quadra, which I was planning on getting.

I got stuck in the tutorial after layering about a billion random drums on top of Izzy. I could not escape and rage quit. Will try again tonight. Initial impressions: caused me to rage quit. RIYL: throwing your controller at the TV.
Just stole this from a user named Izzy at llllllll.co, maybe this will help -
1. hey, i’m stuck looping!
2. phew, thanks for sticking w/. let’s move around. stop the tape and hold up to fast forward.
3. now, rewind.
4. press play.
5. speed up by holding play and flicking up.
6. now, my speed and pitch are doubled. how do you cut my speed and pitch in half?
7. phew, that was exhausting! time’s arrow goes both ways. hold down and press play.
8. so, how do you record with w/? plug a sound source into IN.
9. hit record to overdub this.
10. to overwrite, hold record and flick down.
11. how do you loop? during playback, flick down to add a cue point. this is the start of the loop.
12. now, flick up to add a second cue point. this cue is the end of the loop.
13. stop the tape. hold loop and press record to enter cue mode then press play to audition.
14. move this cue by holding up.
15. press record to save the cue at its new location.
16. nice! you’ve got the basics down and you’re almost ready to play w/. let’s switch to live mode. while auditioning, hold down then release play.
17. navigate to the next cue by holding loop and flicking up.
