Speaking of bonding with devices.. I got the magic meter and I'm really digging it. I'm using it as a gain/goose/eq at the front or second in my chain currently. Blasting the Suneater with it and the magic toggle is delightful. It's a pretty unique boost/OD/fuzz.. I just kind of took a chance realizing I love every fuzzhugger effect I have. No regrets.

Just as a bit of a disclaimer, the thing I love about the fathom at this point is that it sounds beautiful and doesn’t have a bad setting (except the sonar). The plate and hall sound really similar, just beautiful reverb that sits behind or goes real ambient. The lofi has more character and is my favorite. For all three of those modes you can set any knob anywhere and it will sound nice. Doesn’t have any real extreme sounds but that’s fine for me. I have it sitting next to an avalanche run which for me is the opposite. Turn the repeats up a smidge too much on the AR and they will get really in the way of your playing.BetterOffShred wrote:Interesting. I seek a new spacemobile type reverb, and I'm boning hard on the OBNE dark star .. But this new devilry is quite fascinating.PeteeBee wrote:That sovtek is hott.
I just got a walrus audio fathom and I’m really shocked how great it sounds. I bought it online and had immediate buyers remorse, glad it worked out better than I anticipated.
I do not like the sonar/octave mode except for in combination with other delays or reverbs and in loops with other stuff. It has a strange organ type sound that needs some help getting how I like it.

I got some killer looking oa7's in today as well. A smidge higher voltage than the 310's. Look like black glass transistors

I've just spent an hour or so with my Thunder 1A plugged into it (and then into the rest of the pedals) - I started out well, trying out lots of different sounds, but once I'd got it on a setting which produced a sound like demented birdsong I rather got stuck thereJero wrote:So I grabbed a Seymour Duncan Tweak Fuzz for a decent price. It's so good. Took (still takingPaul_C wrote:I hesitated on a used Data Corrupter yesterday and missed out, couldn't think of anything else I really wanted so decided to save my money.
Just spent the last half an hour browsing Reverb and found another Data Corrupter for only a little more than the one I missed out on, so that will be here next week sometime.) me a minute to be able to dial in the multitude of sounds I like out of it, quickly, but I'm having a blast on the quest
