Re: Can we talk about modular synths?
i have no Tea Kick.
murrrrrf. have about half my 1u row at my house. they were hoping to get my case headed out this week, but they had to wait until the slidey nuts showed up, so that put a bit of a delay on it. super nice of them to accommodate me on that, they usually use threaded inserts.
i am sooooo impatient to setup and try a smaller setup. i've been using pretty much what's going into that case and it's a blast.
MEIN GOTT 1U'S ARE SO FREAKING TINY AND CUTE.

Re: Can we talk about modular synths?
yessssshhhh. it looks like it's pretty close to how i used the RML. which. again. AMAZING. way more CV options too. but i just can't afford the space.
YAY ANOTHER FORMAT TO OBSESS OVER FUZZ IN AND TRY ALL THE THINGS AND END UP WITH 19 MINUTELY DIFFERENT VERSIONS OF EACH OTHER WOOOOOOOOOOO.
also, my MN rack stand came in. like a week or two before i'll get the actual rack.
but i get why it's relatively expensive. thing is BEAUTIFUL and sturdy as all the butts.

Re: Can we talk about modular synths?
I've been trying to plan out my next few module purchases and have settled on an Intellijel Quad VCA (gain staging sold me), either a Roland- or MS20-style filter, and probably a Disting. But then I'll probably need some more modulation sources too so we'll see.
Loving the Intellijel 7u still, it's really opened up a lot of possibilities for me. Having some mixing/attenuation functions is a lot more exciting than it should be.
Now I'm debating whether to hang onto my Mother 32 since a lot of its functionality is becoming redundant. Probably isn't going anywhere soon but it's on my mind. Might prefer just to have a Keystep, VCO that goes into LFO range, and a good voltage controlled function generator.

Re: Can we talk about modular synths?
sooooo excited about the Miasma. been using the feedback from the Filterbank and it's got me missing In System Feedback SO HARD.
lol. but. while the different LEDs and diode swapping is interesting, i doubt i'll ever use that. too much to keep track of.

Who else runs a Dinky's? Does it not create the hardest of the hard bass drums, even harder than the BIA? It does, to me.

Re: Can we talk about modular synths?
Anyone cashing in on the labor day sales?
I'm tempted to go nuts but I'm trying to restrain myself. It has been a while since I've spent money on eurorack but I'm at the point where I think I need to invest a little more into it to get some more immediacy/playability out of it, otherwise I should just sell it all and get more polysynths lol.
Definitely want to get NI's Bin Seq and Mimetic Digitalis.
Probably going to get Qu-Bit Nebulae 2 and Pulsar, although I heard some people were getting faulty Nebulaes which makes me a little nervous.
I'm really intrigued by WMD's offerings lately, and I've never used their stuff before, but the Fracture, Overseer, and Chimera feels like a great combo to add to the percussion rack.
I'm having so much trouble syncing with my Pamela's New Workout Idk what to replace it with. At this point I might just say fuck it and get another basic clock divider and drive it all via MIDI clock from Ableton, but I want it to be able to stand on its own as well. Maybe something like TEMPI, but I have to do more research on that one. For whatever reason, PNW never starts my other sequencers on time. Metropolis always starts a beat or two late. My BSP never starts or stops with it correctly.
For sequencing I'm leaning towards a Trigger Riot for the percussion, but I'm not sure what I want to do for the voices. I could give the Eloquencer another go (it's currently un-racked) but it's such a slog to program. Maybe after updating the firmware it'll be less of a slog, but it still lacks the immediacy and improvisation a Metropolis invites. The only problem with Metropolis is the lack of steps and tracks.

for sequencing, never used an Eloquency, but the FLXS is pretty freaking quick after you get used to it's (pretty intuitive) work flow.Muse FTW wrote:Anyone cashing in on the labor day sales?

'm probably going to grab a Metropolis again soon'ish. after my 7u hits, i'm going to have 12u of Home Space to get silly with.
that's weird. are you syncing Pam's to Ableton? or running her as master clock? i use Pam's as the Main Bish Cakes for my setup and everything stays together. MIDI out to Deluge, all the modulars with cables out. seems solid?
also, why is Syinsi so damn hard to order from? FINALLY got their site to work and bought like 6 kits to send to a buildy bud and 2 prebuilt Tiles to me early last week, still hasn't shipped. i mean, no huge hurry. there was a delay on my 7u build while they waited for slidey nuts to arrive, so hopefully that will be out this week. but. WHY LAGGY SHIPPING.
Miasma ships Tuesday. WOOT.

Re: Can we talk about modular synths?
Once I fill up this case I'm not gonna change anything for a year, barring two notable exceptions, I.e. swapping out the my Optomix for a Natural Gate (if I can find/get one), and filling the 14hp blank I have built into my plan. That will probably be Clouds II, but could possibly be the entity bass drum.
The consumerism aspect of euro is exhausting to me, I'm looking forward to meeting this goal.

Re: Can we talk about modular synths?
also, suuuuuper curious about the Zadar. but i'm not trying to grab any more Complex X Design things until i get the ER-301 in and play with it's capabilities a bit.
also also, i REALLY wish i could find someone that can build custom 1u Tiles/transfer exciting builds to 1u Tile format. i loooooove the Quadra, would adore that broken out into 1u's.
