Got my new IJ Quad VCA and DigiVerb in the rack. They do exactly what they say on the tin, so I have no complaints at all.

The DigiVerb sounds pretty great for how cheap and simple it is. It adds a lot of space without going overboard. Definitely beats running a separate reverb pedal after my rack.
Soft clipping on the Quad VCA sounds nice too. Can't wait to play around with it and add some nuance to my patches.

nice! i've been thinking about trying to find someone to shift the Intellijel 1u Reverb over to Pulp Logic format.

the Pulp reverb looks niiiice, but it needs a tank. messy. maybe? dunno. HELLZA space taking.

I do love some real spring reverb but it takes up so much room and requires more fussing with. I’d love it in a rack with plenty of depth or that won’t move but that’s not often the case.

the 1u one from Pulp Logic has a 6 hp interface/control, then (at least on ModGrid) there's an exposed string he sells, but it's 54 hp. that is a LOT of real estate. and i just finallllllly found some AR modules in stock, got 4 coming from Syinisi, which i NEED to pull the Quadra out of the 3u space. so. kinda curious about the 1u verb setup, but... it's like half the space available.

DUNNO.

also, misssssssed having a feedback distortion -

But their spring is mounted inside your case behind your modules so it only takes up depth

Yes, they mount to your case. I have mine inside but I suppose you could mount it anywhere even on the outside if you wanted.

hurm. well. dayum. now i AM interested.

i assume most cases are thick enough you won't damage it mounting an exposed tank?

only other tank verb modules i had the springs picked up HELLZA interference, but i'm down to try.

also also, this is probably a stupid question. I HAVE MANY.

but why do control modules like the TSNM and Tetrapad send out a gate and a trigger?

to me it seems like it would be the same as mult'ing the gate? i get how gates and triggers are different, i just don't see what you would use the separate options for?

FIX. MY. IGNORRRRANNNNNNNNCEEEEEEEE.

Pretty sure some modules will just respond to gates and triggers differently. The obvious example being an ADSR, where (depending on the attack) you'll need a gate to produce the entire waveform; a trigger may only trigger a small blip instead of the full waveform. I also know there are a few modules that respond to the rising, falling, or both edges of a gate/trigger. I can't think of any off the top of my head though.

Also, I totally forgot that I recorded/uploaded this:
