So what actually happens for all your efforts in No Mans Sky? Do you get to change the worlds you discover, like a minecraft thing, or do you just collect points and tools?nogodsnobedtimes wrote:12 hours into the "new" No Mans Sky and it's pretty good. Still buggy, some missions just don't actually end or even start properly, and some base saves get wiped here and there, but the 4 person coop is fun.

Base building can be really expansive.
Plus you can have things like Star Destroyers and get into space battles with pirates.
There's also some kind of story that I haven't really paid attention to.

Since I always forget:
SPOILER : show

Re: The Video Game thread
Started playing No Man's Sky again due to the above discussion. It's definitely much better than it was at launch, but the new (I think?) flying controls drive me nuts. I keep trying to make quick turns, but due to the whole lag/building momentum mechanic I either hit the thing I'm trying to avoid or I over correct to a ridiculous degree and end up facing some random direction.

I want to jump in on this, but I have no faith that it's going to be a good port so I'm sitting on my butt until it's out wide.GAS KING wrote:Monster Hunter World PC 2 days!!

From the reviews so far, it seems decent.Inconuucl wrote:I want to jump in on this, but I have no faith that it's going to be a good port so I'm sitting on my butt until it's out wide.GAS KING wrote:Monster Hunter World PC 2 days!!

Mostly a 1:1 console to PC port. As in, they didn't do much to make PC better.
Sounds like at 1080p a decent PC can handle ULTRA settings.
I don't know why I'm writing this....here's a video that describes it better: https://youtu.be/I4o65HSRNlk

That's my main beef with the game: I hate the flying. I'm probably too used to "typical" flight mechanics in arcade-y type games and other air/space combat games, so I'm always rolling around on accident and going way off course.MrNovember wrote:Started playing No Man's Sky again due to the above discussion. Turns out if you go to general options and turn off tethered flight controls, it goes back to the old controlsnogodsnobedtimes wrote:That's my main beef with the game: I hate the flying.
