that's what im sayyyinnnn! 2019 though. grid is back as of today and idk if I should try or not. I got a digitone just for sequencing (got yarns from worra) but I ended up enjoying composing on it too... but grid looks more interesting and fun for euro sequencing than digi :idk:
Also somehow missed this post... The sequencing apps for the grid tend to be focused on highly interactive parts rather than very specific results... This is something I like a lot but not the best of you're always trying to execute specific musical ideas. I would read the manual for Ansible, focusing on Kria and Meadowphysics. If those concepts click with you and you have the scratch, it's a really fun world to dive into. If it seems really confusing... read it one more time before you decide  pretty heady. Also the Monome community is always making changes, updating firmware, porting other apps (Earthsea just got added to Ansible for example).

I've read that the grid LEDs leak high frequency noise.

I read it and it seems like it's up my alley. Thanks for the insight too. I just sold my digitone to fund a grid, as I was really only using it as a sequencer anyway. I think I'll keep Yarns for when I need to get something specific done but I'm looking to be more exploratory with the synth composition for a while. What's up with expert sleepers stuff? I could fully compose in the computer and just output all the info to my rack? that seems cooler than yarns

yah. the Exploratory Aspect of Grids is what.... doesna appeal to me actually. i like Deluge for it's rock solid predictability and if i have an idea, can pound out exactly that. i love the random WHAT THE FUCK HAPPENED HOW WHY YES THAT IS NEAT aspect of euro for the.... Random Composition Aspect of making music?

thanks for the insights! will read up on your suggestions when i get a hinute.

also, woot. Scanned is released! missed that. ORDERED.

If you have a midi interface you can do this with Yarns. Expert sleepers FH-1 or the Endorphin.es Shuttle Control give you USB connectivity though which might be more convenient for you. I have the Shuttle Control and I’m happy with it.

thank you for the info. I'll have to look into those. I've seen the shuttle in cases lately but never looked into it. :thumb:

A tiny bit yes, probably worse in some set ups compared to others... Not so bad in mine, barely there. You can mitigate the noise by powering the grid seperate from the module, there's documentation for those options somewhere.

Rene 2 is here and it is fucking great so far. Some actions take more button taps than Rene v1 but the ease of navigation on v2 more than makes up for it. Super easy to tell where you're at all the time.

inb4 1u clouds/braids.

I mean, one of the reasons Braids was put on the shelf was because it was mostly used as background voice, so that would fit it.

1U disting would also be amazing.

i sawwwww on ModGid that someone 1u'd the Expert Sleepers MIDI interface. i would be okayyyyy with a horizontal MIDI to CV.

woot! Schenk guy has some Pequeno Interruptor's back in stock. 1 hp generic 6 switch thing, supposed to work well with Batumi. ordered black panels for the 2hp Kick, Snare and Hat and a Metabolic Devices Coherence.

i looooove the Morgasmatron, but keeping it in my rack means i have to take the DU-RDT out to make room for Coherence. but mannnn the options on the Morgasmo are BANANANANANAS.

dilemma.
