Edit: Oops, wrong thread, weird.

On topic, I've been playing through Hotline Miami 1 and 2 again. Trying to beat the hard mode. They're both such great games and I love their soundtrack

I beat Dead Cells the other night. I feel like this game is teaching me life lessons about perseverance that I am actually putting to use in real life. Now I get to dive deeper into the next harder mode.

Nice. I haven't played since Early Access so the game's a little different now, but it's definitely a fun one for me. The combat/gameplay is just really fluid and satisfying. I've been to the last level a few times but never actually beat it. I've heard the last boss is *really* difficult...

As for me, I've been kind of obsessed lately with a roguelike called Cogmind.

So I have an OG Wii, and I'm curious how this works. I have Retropie 4 running on a pi 3b and nearly every game for a few of the systems .. is this Wii mod similar ? Do you just perform a hardware hack? Or does this install games ?

No hardware hacks necessary, just software mods. And making sure you have the right versions, setup etc.
it can get a little intense, but if you're a nerd you can figure it out...
but I've spent a lot of time in this world. ;) plus have done some coding and used to work QA.

Spent a couple of hours on The Division 2 Beta.

Overall, I give it maybe a 5-6/10.

Cons:
I still really dislike 3rd person gameplay when it comes to shooting.
Not into the bullet sponge factor, despite it being not as bad as in the original, it's still frustrating to have to send 30 rounds downrange to kill one dude and then sit through a reload animation that really shouldn't exist for a game with bullet sponge mechanics. Especially when you consider that unloading an AR-15 into some dude does less than pulling out a Beretta and capping them, at whatever range.
Being "open world" feels really pointless when you can't, y'know, JUMP. So there are a lot of areas you can't really get to, climb up to, get around, etc. It's just bad level design, imo.
Enemies tend to be pretty smart, but the enemies that just rush you with a baton are really annoying to deal with because they exist solely to either kill you by accident because the melee function is fucking worthless, or waste your bullets and thus your time. It's lazy, it's dumb, fuck you ubisoft for not giving a shit about the AI.
Still can't drive vehicles. Despite both Watch Dogs and Ghost Recon Wildlands having that, somehow these elite sleeper agents just couldn't be fucked with learning how to start a car. I guess ubisoft figured people would be content with just closing doors instead. Looking at the map, it's gonna be a real pain in the ass going from one end to the other solely because you'll be forced to walk, and then shoot your way through neighborhoods you don't feel like being in.

Pros:
I liked the whole system they have for gear, perks, etc.
Only 3 of the skills are available in-game, but they're pretty interesting. I'd prefer if the drones could be controlled like in WD2, GR:W, R6:s, etc. but it's not that big of a deal.
The whole idea of having actual armor that you have to replace when you get shot is neat and feels much more realistic than other armor/shield mechanics. That being said, it still regenerates when you back off from a firefight, so that's less immersive.
Visuals were pretty solid. The setting is really detailed. I like the roaming civilian patrols. Also, base building looks somewhat promising, but also seems like it's just a system of getting stuff, going to a place, dropping stuff off and then the base has more stuff when you return later, so that's not really as fun.

Hmmm...to each their own I guess. Valid complaints.

My only complaints about Division 2 Beta were: sometimes enemies glitched out and getting a rash of server errors for an hour when I started playing. Those went away after that.

I'd probably give it a 7.5/10 as it is. If it gets improved by launch (overall stability, less enemy bugs).....probably 8.5/10. I liked the Division 1 after they fixed it too.

It isn't perfect. Its mostly more of the same with some things update/improved things.

If anyone is after a new BR game that's not garbage, check out Apex Legends. It's basically a BR mod for Titanfall, but free (no P2W either). It's got a great communication system where you can just ping stuff to mark or alert, a pretty unique MOBA-esque character system with ults and different perks, and the game play is tight.

I'm not a fan of BR games and I'm really enjoying it.

Also if you have VOIP turned on in The Division 2 it exposes your IP address to everyone.

So have fun with that I guess.

Can second this.
Runs well. Plays well. Gameplay and mechanics are thought out.
Don't think I've had any bugs or glitches so far either.

I suck at BR games but still enjoy it.
Better than any other BR games I've played so far.

I'm so done with Loot'n'shoot games like Division, Destiny and Battle Royal games usually always ends up being death as soon as I find a nice Weapon kit. Anthem doesn't look inspiring either. Although weirdly, I decided to pick up ME: Andromeda again and am having a a super fun time - probably because you aren't forced to team up with randoms to fight bullet spongy enemies for 80 hours.

R6 Siege has had a game mode only on the weekends that uses the Pro League rule set which is so much fun that it's kinda ruined the fun of the regular game. But Australian Operators are coming next season so I don't know :idk:

Yeah, I've actually enjoyed it, surprisingly.
The community is still super toxic, but the discovery mode seems to have a bit less toxicity than, say, casual mode.

We had some friends over last night and they brought their Switch. Played Mario Party and Mario Kart. My girlfriend loved it! So, I finally pulled the trigger. I've got a Switch, Mario Party, Mario Kart, Smash Bros, and extra Joy-Cons on the way. Going to grab the pro controller and Zelda at some point in the near future, too.
