Cold Mac (one of only 2 that I'm interested in getting - if I can sell other stuff) is actually quite simple in terms of what is in there. It's "just" 5 or 6 simple building blocks arranged in a very smart way. That smart arrangement is what makes it good when you try things instead of just doing what you planned to do, I think.

they are SUPER neat! like a lot of their stuff, just ridiculously playable. for me where stuff like the Tetrapad is mebbe a little TOO control'y, these seem to be the perfect balance of set and forget and wiggle a thing to make a THING. definitely into the Lapsus Os and Pons Asinorum (BRIDGE. OF. ASSES.) the most, i love the idea of the Roti Pola, so impressed by how Baseck does envelope combination stuff, but it's been a bit.... meh for me so far. any Failure Of Awesomeness is defo me more than the module though.

haven't put enough time into them because i have been LOVING the Chrono Twice Removed. it's so cool have either a bouncy stereo delay or 2 mono delays tied to a common main division then using the attenuators to change up their relation individually to that.

and. you know. i LOVE the hold on Chrono.

just Rings and a drum loop from Varigate 8/ER-301, each into their own side of Chrongley02 -

My Hordijk Modular showed up yesterday! I got the basic system - 2 rows of 5u, 6 modules wide on each row. I look forward to exploring it over my Christmas break!

Oh man, super jealous about the Hordijk! I don't know if I'll ever get a chance to own any, but I hope to eventually get a Blippoo Box. Especially since it seems like a V2 is on the way.

Also, my Novation Peak showed up! So happy with it. I am slowly whittling away my remaining euro. I think I'll end up keeping at least one Mother 32 and a small rack of mostly Mutable modules. And the Field Kits, I guess they technically count as euro.

So pretty. Been considering picking up that whole WMD mixer collection but still a little hesitant considering it's so $$$.
Also I waited too long on that Noise Engineering free module thing and they sold out LOL.

Btw what kind of cables are those? Love those colors.

Nice, man! Honestly I can't tell whether or not I want to keep up with this format. I always feel like I'm spending money and I always have a miserable time recording it. Part of me wants to sell it all and buy a new guitar. Part of me wants to double down and make it work.

everybody LOOTS.

i'm trying not to buy anything else big right now, saving money for the Pulsar-23 that looks sooner rather than later. i'm reallllly hoping that he gets the price point to about a g instead of a g and a half.

....... fuck you Dusty. been watching vidjas and i.... might want a Grid.

Muse'lix - thems the Tendril cables. right angle for the WIN.

yeah. WMD PF And Friends are nooooot cheap. but DAYUM. never really had fun playing with mixers, this is yessssss.

also, channels can function as ad hock audio VCAs with the CV control. so. THAT'S cool.

I'm pretty much done and in a comfortable, maintainable spot. Not in a rush to cover every function and every gap anymore. There are still a few modules I want to get that will be permanent additions, but there's no hurry and new stuff doesn't really mess up my plans anymore. I am starting to have pedal plans again, which definitely feels like a step in the right direction.

Yah, I am feeling some of your comments re: chilling out on the Euro loots. My 12u system is fuckin' rad but what I've been doing to stay fresh instead of buying new modules is combining stuff in weird ways into a single 104hp skiff. Have had fun making little instruments with an eye toward live use / improv recording. Here's what I've got in the skiff right now. URA acting as master trigger clocker mult'd to the trig delays (which trig Dinky's & KARP to make off-kilter beats) and also to DPLPG which has Equation Composer fed into it. Benjolin gets fed into Echophon for v. bad-man ju-ju vibration. I can make everything go off and on. I can speed it up and slow it down. I can change timbres at will. The Benjolin is the real wild card. Never 100% certain WTF that little ma'fck's going to spit out. It's usually cool, though, and if not, I can make it cool w/ Echophon. Those are my Eurorack thoughts today.

Image

P.S. I am also jealous of the Hordijk modular.

P.P.S. I wish Pulsar-23 did not use alligator clips but I will probably end up with one at some point because I love drum machines.

Seconding this so hard. I've been having a ton of fun building little skiffs out of my stuff for different purposes.
