I will def. share ADDAC 302 nCHUNK Nintendo Beat downs a.s.a.p. Very excited about it. There's a video of a guy controlling the hi-hat with the accelerometer but he doesn't go far enough fast enough for my taste.

neat! will listen when i'm near speakers.
murf. got a trade offer from a Local Human for a Stillson Hammer 2, meeting up with dooder in a few hours. also been curious about them, i know it's less outs in more space, but good sub for a Voltage Block?
i miss the Metro but dayummmmmm that is a LOT of hp for one out.
also, Brandy Flavored Williams clued me into the guy on RrrrrThoginalal forum that offers black ER-301 panels. orderrrrrred.

Re: Can we talk about modular synths?
I'm kind of in the same place with Metropolis right now. I love it's workflow and it always puts out a really musical phrase but I really wish it had a second CV out. Lately I've just been replicating good sequences from it on the ER-101. It can't do the brownian mode stuff and isn't quite as fun but it's less to worry about syncing up.
Eventually I'm going to move it out of my 7u rack and into a skiff to make a beastly little mono synth.
Curious about how the Stillson Hammer compares though.

Re: Can we talk about modular synths?
so. yeah. there's a bit of a learning curve because where the Meteo is mostly One Function Per Button, the Hammer is still easy as butts to use. very cool that it decouples gates and cv. makes for interesting patterns quick switchy style. looking forward to getting quicker with it.
also, the Lyra 8 was neat, but bugged me how much a pain it was to tune. but the effects section was amazeeeebutts. ran so many things through that just sounded SQUISHY LOVE LOVE PUDDLE.
so.... have the Lyra 8-FX module on the way.

Re: Can we talk about modular synths?
hurm. also, got a second MN Skiff coming in, totally makes me rething my setup. well. not TOTALLY. but as fun as the Hammer is, she is HUGE. was thinking about some modular.... modular setups. and one idea was to have some of the sequencers in Close By Occasional Use skiffs.
with the Grid coming in this Thursday, it feels like the Hammer is overkill in the main rack.
i got on the LA MotS in a couple weeks, so deciding today if it makes sense to bring the Hammer or swap it for the Voltage Blocks and a thing or two. since it has to be All Modular All The Time, no external stuff, at MotS.

Re: Can we talk about modular synths?
Rad dude! I also am playing the Austin MOTS on Sunday (as is our wonderful bare mountain), should be super fun. No grid for me cause we keep it in the rack but I have a nice mellow ambient set planned. Lots of rings, fracture, morphagene, marbles, etc.behndy wrote:yah. i'm unsure if i should furk with it yet.

Re: Can we talk about modular synths?
For me it's always live, I don't think I've ever set up a prepared reel for it. I should do that sometimebrndnwilliams wrote:heck yea to all of you! are you going with prepared samples in the morph or using it live???

Re: Can we talk about modular synths?
Grid IN.
OOMPH that's a surprisingly heavy little beasty. soooooo impatient to wibble it some. not going to be until tomorrow though i think. only have an hour or so to do musics tonight, want to nail down an idea or two for the MotS thing.
annnnnd for them Grids and/or Norn would be a no no.

Re: Can we talk about modular synths?
I'm going with some prepared samples this time around, all from Laraaji's Ambient 3 record, accompanied by some synthy noodle doodles. I'm pretty freakin' excited for it, though the forecast recently went from high sixties to low 50s and possibly rainy.worra wrote:For me it's always live, I don't think I've ever set up a prepared reel for it.
