I actually thought mine was defective and ended up returning it. Black Cat's Bee Buzz is similar, though can sound okay (albiet more spitty than I prefer) without additional post gain saturation. The Lone Wolf Audio Black Goat is another variant I previously owned that hit most marks decently, and prior experience with another Barge Concepts BB-jr was favorable (not entirely sure why I sold it). My current favorite of the lot is the Earthbound Audio Pale Mare with the Maxon Fire a close second and SUF Son of a Bee growing more on me each time it sees action (though still sounding a bit too scooped for the most part). I'd definitely like to try an original at some point as well as the Anarchy Audio Baa Bzz, Effects Bank Nolk, Black Cat Wee Buzz, Out Sound Warthog, and Prophecysound Black Sheep.
Ahhh good to know. Funny you mention it, cause the Pale Mare and Fire are prob the 2 I'd go for. The Throat Locust is a mainstay on my board so I have no qualms with more EA in the chain. I forgot about the Anarchy Audio one....and I'm actually sending Laowiz my AF-100 at some point for him to compare to the Warthog ;)

Got an MS-50G on the way.

Pretty excited. Just did some pedalboard adjusting because I hate everything including music so I’m hoping this all makes me happy.

I love both the HM-2 and HM-3 to pieces! The HM-3 is such an underestimated beast. It does also sound awesome with an octaver before it!

Arrived today, spent the last hour jamming with it.
Obviously you all already know it, but let me said it anyway: this thing is amazing. The dirty circuit on the dry signal mixed with the rest (phase inversion on) is one of the best dirt sounds i have had in months, and I'm not even using my main amp.

I was on the fly and placed it first in the chain followed by a low gain overdrive and it sounds nuts anyway.

Now I've got to decide what to take out of the board to make room for it.

Dunwich Spatial Rift

It's like the Temporal Rift but with Fuzz instead of Reverb (im not a Reverb guy).
Second footswitch is diode swap.
Sound is crushing.
I am happy.

I've got a Megalith v2 coming in tomorrow that I'm pumped to try out! I have yet to try the second version and I'm anticipating love here. Alan told me there's even dip switches to mess with. I'm hoping for a slightly more tamable Megalith with more definition. I can use it the other way as well however, just not as often.
