School me on small (max 1590bb, better if less) modulation pedals with random waveform.
Used to have a Woozy, sold it, now I regret it a lot.

KMA Horizont is pretty neat--smooth and stepped random (among others) plus envelope or exp control over freq, lfo speed or both, pkus ability to mix env and lfo. Tonezz? Flexi stereo phaser, pitch vibrato (the kind you get from a full-wet phaser, so more magnatoney than VB-2ish), panner/trem, fx loop. Ain't cheap though, and not tiny, but I think it's a 1590BB...I did find a used deal for under $200 usd...made on your side of the pond, though, so probs even easier to find used deals.... OBNE Dweller is a digiphaser with stepped random (s&h) waveform avails that throws in a multitap delay for shits & giggles. Smaller and cheaper than the Horizont too....
Also, consider the amazeballs boo'ful Shallow Water for tasty rando vibrato/chorus/flange wrapped around dat gooey lpg center

Re: The Whatever Thread .. For Gear!!
Fixed the unstable (would go silent as it pleased) Peavey Pacer I bought recently, yesterday. Thankfully it was indeed just a bad master volume pot. So I replaced that one and the reverb pot, because the previous owner had glued a chickenhead knob to its plastic shaft, which I had to saw off to pull the board anyway. Gain pot I had already replaced, so now it's a loud, stable clean machine with smooth action on all the knobs!
Feel like this makes up for my failure to save my buddys Valvestate 8080 (he has a Super Twin and a '65 AC30 so it's ok).

Yeah I'm looking more in vibrato/chorus style modulations like the Woozy. Shallow Water has been on my list since forever but never found one at a decent price here in Europe

Re: The Whatever Thread .. For Gear!!
I remember somebody talking about a power supply with switches for each power output, huge mA capabilities etc etc but I don't remember the name of the builder and can't seem to find the thread!
Please help. Rewired the entire board today, tried all kind of daisy chaining but I don't have enough high mA outputs and I can't get rid of a low volume hum with the newly added digital pedals

I'm always on the lookout for a chorus/vibrato that allows direct control over pitch/delay time via cv so I can whack in any modulation waveform I can extract cv from. I asked Joel about that when he was developing the Warped Vinyl MK1, and that was something he included (direct control over pitch) and it's really pretty awesome. I wonder if there are others? Of course, that requires a cv source....
The tap tempo lfo that is now common in many diy mod builds (and some boutique offerings) is another option - it includes a sample and hold waveform. I wonder if whacking in a filter after the s&h might smooth the cv to be more random tri/sine

Anyway, that tap tempo lfo circuit - I've seen it featured in trem builds mostly, but also phaser and filter...but, point is, it's fairly ubiquitous, and daughter boards are available. I wonder if you could convince an enterprising builder to mate one to a chorus/vibrato circuit of your liking? I have a trem with that lfo and I've thought about getting it re-housed and modded to sync a pitch vibrato to the lfo since I love the sound of synced trem and pitch vibrato....
Happy hunting

Cioks (including rebadged as Eventide) or Yankee?

That's extremely interesting. Since we are talking about it, my impossible dreams random modulation thing should have this:
- random waveform (obviously) sine/square
- minimum and maximum pitch parameters that can be set independently, and within which the waveform randomly changes
- minimum and maximum tempo parameters that can be set independently, and within which the waveform randomly changes
In this way you should be able to control the randomness in a unique way, keeping it random but under severe surveillance

Don't know, maybe it already exists

Turns out it was the Cioks dc7 but I was totally sure it wasn't from cioks so I didn't even check. Thanks

Boring question n. 43567bis:
Small expression pedals with the ability to command 2 different pedals? Also, just small expression pedals with decent range control?

Not small or cheap, but check the Db Instruments 4E dual axis expression pedal. Pretty cool. Can control 4 pedals at once. Up/down and side/side action.

Re: The Whatever Thread .. For Gear!!
Just looked at it. That thing is crazy, i don't even know if I would be able to do side to side action during live shows, when I barely get to press the correct footswitches. Thanks for the suggestion, even if right now it's really outside of my needs/budget.codetocontra wrote:Not small or cheap, but check the Db Instruments 4E dual axis expression pedal. Pretty cool. Re: The Whatever Thread .. For Gear!!
I think Copilot makes some splitters that would allow you to use one expression pedal with several pedals. Doesn't take too much room on your board either.

Yes, the bandwidth! It was my first thought but I wanted to know if there are other options because I really want the expression thing to be as small as possible.Eivind August wrote:I think Copilot makes some splitters that would allow you to use one expression pedal with several pedals.
