Re: Let's hear your music!
Last post as I don't want to clog this up for others but, again, your meticulous attention to detail really came through on this one. "What Came Before The Time Before" is like your "30th Century Man" in that, you get in, you say what needs to be said, you get out. You didn't go on too long, you left me wanting more out of that track, and imo, it had that 'classic' Tr000bearzKvlt music vibe (I don't care how ridiculous I sound
). I reminded me a lot of 'Thaw' (my favorite track off your last album). Tr00bearzKvlt 4life.

Here's a video from our gig. Just a little bit of our second piece. Maybe someone likes it. I thought we did OK on this particular piece. Messed up the last piece a lot though... but a lot of people thought that was the best part of the gig so what do I know.

Re: Let's hear your music!
Did a heavy dub/industrial/triphop thing
https://wulfen.bandcamp.com/album/honest-industry
Did it all on a Digitone, added a couple of samples afterwards in my DAW (some hats and a little bit of general percussion), and beefed up the snares by multiplying them and running it through a harmonic percolator.

Re: Let's hear your music!
I usually don't like music described as "industrial" unless it's actually from Industrial Records or something, but I enjoyed this. Some nice dub-y trip-hop. The beats carry the tracks well, and I like the various elements going on top. For some reason the bar scene from Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me came to me whilst listening to this... and that's a good thing.

Yeah... echo'ing (lol) these sentiments. Great work. Love your ad copy too.VREEEEVROOOOOW wrote:I usually don't like music described as "industrial" unless it's actually from Industrial Records or something, but I enjoyed this. "painkillers, black coffee, misanthropy, FM synthesis, harmonic percolators and massive fucking snares.
I wrote the majority of this on an Elektron Digitone in a car park on my lunch breaks at work."
We're friends now I decided. Great chunes!
EDIT 1: Special attention should be called to the track names... GREAT JOB!

EDIT 2: I checked out your other stuff. Really enjoying your break core stuff. This track name killed me "Rocky VII: Adrian's Revenge"

EDIT 3 (posted a day later): No seriously, the break core material is fantastic!

Re: Let's hear your music!
Thanks for the kind words chaps.
I agree about the industrial thing generally, with a few exceptions. Though I guess if I leave it as dub/trip hop, many would expect it to be more mellow, whereas I wanted the percussion on it to sound like being kicked in the head. Not sure how else to define that

I'm okay with "industrial dub". Any one else? We're not going back once we decide. It's like ordering McDonald's with a bunch of people. Once we leave the parking lot... WE ARE DONE!

In DnB there's this phrase "techstep" -- so, eh... techdub anyone? Tech-hop?

I agree with the term but it’s a tempo thing. I’ll allow it.

For anyone not following the project thread:
Okta is here!
Come and drift in the sky with us!
This is a collaborative ambient project done in two stages: first, ILF'ers recorded and posted stems/fragments, which were then mixed/re-assembled into new tracks.
This was nicely mastered by shikawkee, so this is the rare Bandcamp compilation where you won;t have to adjust the volume after every track.

Re: Let's hear your music!
we got a nice little nod over at Hex Records blogspot (http://hanginghex.blogspot.com/), a label I really admire, so I figured i'd share...
TRVSS, “Absence”
I didn’t know what to expect here because the artwork doesn’t tell you much and neither does the band’s page, plus I have no idea what their name is supposed to mean, or how it’s pronounced. But I gotta say, nice work TRVSS. You get yourself 10 tracks of kinda noisey, kinda spazzy durable rock from Pittsburgh with just a little bit of sass (mostly in the vocals, I’ll allow it). There’s a quality to the guitar sound that is very reminiscent of Midwest rockers Call Me Lightning, whom I’m sure no one remembers or cares about, but believe me, that’s A-OK. At their most out-of-control they could have even had a record out on GSL in the late 90’s. And at their most direct it’s chugging along with a good post-hardcore vibe like on “Late Night Monologue”, which shows up later on during the record. Whatever the case, TRVSS get a nod for surprising me with a great sound far off the mark of anything I thought it might be. (trvss.bandcamp.com)

Re: Let's hear your music!
I certainly liked the description well enough to put it on. A+ sass vox. Definitely my kind of emo-y hardcore-y punk-y stuff this. The feedback in A Brief History... & towards the end on Detroit, Etc. is divine.omarwhite wrote:we got a nice little nod over at Hex Records blogspot (http://hanginghex.blogspot.com/), a label I really admire, so I figured i'd share...
